There are benefits to every style of training but the biggest bang for your buck is still a solid strength training program.

Now, we know, you're busy. This is why we have 3 dedicated total body strength training days per week in our schedule.

This makes sure you get everything you need in only 3 days.

If you want more? Like 30+ minutes of cardio / conditioning twice a week, we got that too.

We recently had a member say "Man ... I wish I found you guys earlier!"

"When I used to focus on power lifting, I would squat, deadlift, bench press and just wash, rinse and repeat over and over again and I was getting beat up."

This is exactly why we don't overly focus on one thing. Running, CrossFit, Power lifting, Bodybuilding, Yoga, etc... all have a place.

3 strength days + 3 conditioning days + 1 “CrossFit” day

Over the last 5 weeks we have seen awesome progress and received even better feedback from our members.

Time to stop beating yourself up every day to make little to no progress.

Dedicated, specific and progressive strength training 3 times a week to get stronger supplemented with conditioning days that won’t ruin your progress!

Sure we still like to throw down on Saturdays with a little CrossFit if you’re into that sort of thing!

Exercise is a great way to reduce stress and what better way than to smash a ball into the ground?!

This is just a snippet from our Hyrox Simulation over the weekend but one thing that everyone left with was a big ole smile on their face.

Why? Because they sweat a little, laughed a little and enjoyed the experience that Prime brings to fitness each and every day.

Our Story

Before Prime Movement and Performance was official, our head coach Anthony, spent many years teaching physical education and coaching young athletes in football and track and field. While coaching and training athletes in Brooklyn, NY, he noticed there was something missing from the training landscape, somewhere for young athletes to learn how to train to stay healthy and of course get better. And…Prime Performance was born as a youth performance company in Brooklyn, NY.

At this time Anthony was subleasing space from CrossFit 718 where he was coaching CrossFit classes and doing personal training part-time. He was unable to secure time slots or grow the brand because of limitations both in schedule and space. After the birth of their first daughter, Nellie, Anthony and his wife, Catherine, decided to move back home to Upstate New York. Concerned about leaving a great community behind, they decided to build their own in their new digs. And in August of 2015, CrossFit Utica opened its doors. Meanwhile, Anthony and Catherine were both full-time teachers in local school districts while working to get the business up and running.

After two years of building an amazing community, we decided it was time to really dive in and take on the business full-time. Anthony resigned from his teaching position and focused all of his energy on running the gym. After operating out of a 900 square foot garage for two and half years, we found a new location to call home. Things have come full circle as CrossFit Utica has morphed back into Prime Movement and Performance, a world-class facility bringing the best training possible to the folks living in the Utica-Rome area.
