⚠️ The menstrual cycle has four main stages:

1. Menstrual Phase (Days 1-5) – Shedding of the uterine lining, leading to menstruation (period).

2. Follicular Phase (Days 1-13) – The pituitary gland releases FSH, stimulating the growth of follicles in the ovaries. One follicle matures into an egg, and estrogen levels rise, thickening the uterine lining.

3. Ovulation Phase (Day 14) – A surge in LH causes the mature egg to be released from the o***y into the fallopian tube, where it can be fertilized.

4. Luteal Phase (Days 15-28) – The corpus luteum forms, releasing progesterone to maintain the uterine lining. If fertilization doesn’t occur, hormone levels drop, leading to menstruation.
