Breathing Room is a breath of fresh air for all looking to expand their yoga experience. An intimate studio, Breathing Room is a personal and inviting space to practice. With a variety of classes for students of all levels we invite you to come join our community and find your Breathing Room. Our Studio puts emphasis on your practice as an extention of your life, we work to create a space for you to learn and grow with yourself and a community of like minded individuals. Breathing Room is a place not only for you to come and practice yoga with like-minded people, but a place for you to feel you are growing,
learning and contributing to and with a community.

BR (Breathing Room) Signature Flow is a creative vinyasa practice that begins with a grounding warm-up and energizing sun salutations, gradually building into a fun, fluid, and imaginative sequence. 💚

Students are guided through purposeful alignment and anatomy cues, with space to connect breath, movement, and personal expression in the flow. Each class includes an intentional offering for contemplation—whether it be a yogic concept, poem, or reflection—so the practice is not only about movement, but also about deepening your relationship to self. The flow is designed to challenge and support you in equal measure, cultivating strength, balance, and fluidity while leaving space for play and creativity. All levels are welcome, with thoughtful modifications offered to ensure everyone feels empowered and included in the practice. 🔆

We’re so excited to bring back an area Margot has been deeply studying for almost 20 years. Join us for her famous Chocolate Chakra Workshop!  🍫🤎

In this immersive two-hour specialty class, meditation and asana are thoughtfully woven together to explore the elemental energies of earth, water, fire, air, and ether, and how they correspond to different areas of our physical and emotional bodies—known collectively as the chakra system. Throughout the experience, we’ll indulge in seven unique chocolates, each intentionally paired with the element and energetic qualities of its corresponding chakra.

Everywhere I turn, something is telling us to change. Products. Information. Fear. I feel overwhelmed by social media — where 3 out of every 5 stories are ads telling me to buy something so I can be a better mother, a younger-looking woman, or finally erase my cellulite. When really, all I want is to see what my best friends are up to and which soccer game my godson is playing. And all of this exists alongside the constant hum of fear — the news, the violence, the inhumanity unfolding in real time — coming at us from every direction, wedged between the most ridiculous and insignificant ads.

IT’S TOO MUCH.

And with these two principles, my mantra has become: I Don’t Need That. 

In a time where we can feel so helpless as to what we can do- remember what you have, what you are good at and lean into those values in your life. Connect with your community. Encourage peace through checking in with your values. And ask- What is it that I really need right now? It most likely isn’t more stuff- its more self care and connection.

📣Community Call to Action 📣:

In collaboration with Liberty Community Services, we’ll be collecting donations to create Winter Support Bundles for the unhoused communities of New Haven. Together, with all of these supplies, we’ll then organize a community day at the studio to pack them together.

Over the next month, we’ll be collecting these items. We immensely appreciate the support from our incredible community 🫶🏾

Founded in 2009, Breathing Room is located in downtown New Haven, Ct within a newly renovated 12,000 sq. ft. wellness & community space at 216 Crown St. Welcome!
