Acupuncture Solutions Providing acupuncture and other services to patients in the greater New Haven, CT area and biweekly in Salem, Massachusetts. Cory Walsh DeLise, Lic.Ac.

holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Connecticut; graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Master's Degree in Chinese Medicine from Emperor's College in Los Angeles; and received a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science in San Diego. Bidding farewell to a long career as a nonprofit executive, working with organizations serving both children and the environment, Cory embarked on a journey into the world of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In addition to the four years spent attaining her graduate degree, she worked in clinics throughout Los Angeles as well as studying with top physicians in hospitals throughout Beijing, China. Her specialties include musculoskeletal pain; infertility; facial rejuvenation; osteoarthritis; and disorders such as fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. She is trained in numerous techniques and can address a wide variety of diseases using acupuncture, herbal medicine, Chinese therapeutic massage, nutritional advice, and lifestyle counseling. After living for 13 years in Southern California, Cory returned to her east coast roots in 2005 and spent 5 years working on the north shore of Massachusetts; 4 years in central Maryland; and has been practicing in her home state of Connecticut since 2013 where she treats patients in New Haven, adjacent to the Yale University campus. Cory also continues to see patients in Massachusetts for maintenance treatments on a biweekly basis. Cory believes strongly in the philosophy of complementary medicine which embodies the concept that no individual branch of medicine has all of the answers. It is in the spirit of working together that physicians, acupuncturists, chiropractors and other specialists can make strides toward not only healing patients but also preventing illness from manifesting. Cory is eager to work collaboratively with all healthcare professionals toward that goal.

This is a great piece on how acupuncture can help with PTSD (including links to important clinical studies). I've seen it first hand in the 20+ years I've been in practice.

This article highlights acupuncture as a promising and effective treatment for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), moving beyond traditional methods like psychotherapy and medication. Recent research, including a 2024 study on combat veterans, demonstrates that verum acupuncture significantly...

This podcast episode shares how to manifest what you want in your life using neuroscience! One very interesting detail was the discussion about how the “stress” hormone cortisol literally leaks from our pores and contaminates those around us. Conversely, the “feel good” hormone oxytocin does not leak…it must be cultivated and stimulated via touch, connection, community, meditation, and ACUPUNCTURE!

Most days I talk with my patients about not using ice for extended treatment of injuries...few ever listen. Even medical doctors, chiropractors, and physical therapists just can't tear themselves away from incorrectly prescribing ice when the evidence is now clear that it impairs healing. Dr. Gabe Mirkin, the doctor who coined the RICE (Rest. Ice. Compression. Elevation.) protocol, retracted his assertions when SCIENCE provided better, more accurate information!

Best explanation of how cupping works!

Cupping 101
Does it hurt? - No*
Does it cause damage?- No*
Does it work? - Yes* *if properly applied
HOW does it work? - The suction from cupping makes the immune system release histamine, that dialates capillaries. Then, suction pulls plasma and red blood cells into the tissues and up through the layers and the lymphatic system towards the surface. Though no damage occurs, the immune system views this blood in the tissues as damage and goes to work on growth/repair/draining the area. It accelerates healing like nothing I have seen. The peteccia(dotty bruises as blood comes up through the lymphatic system) should disappear within a week.
In healthy tissue, many times the area will not show color for more than a few minutes.
Bottom line?- it works.
