🦷 Phase I treatment can make a big difference when a child has a Crossbite.
👧🏼If the top jaw is too small, the teeth don’t fit and the patient bites to one side (left here). This shift puts the chin left as well. Growth is now uneven and we have a facial assymetry.
👩🏻⚕️ When we correct the Crossbite early (age 8) the patient has a full growth spurt following this and we typically see the chin eventually recenters with time.
⏳Treating a Crossbite at the right time is not just about straight teeth, it’s about creating the foundation for a healthy bite and a balanced lower jaw.
🙋♀️still have questions? Call and schedule a consultation today! We recommend kids see the orthodontist at age 7.
