Recently our nursing staff and medical assistant staff celebrated our outstanding Director of Nursing, Ms. Tanjar Johnson for National Boss' Day! As you can tell from the many gifts bestowed upon Tanjar she is well loved by her team. Tanjar thank you for your dedication and commitment to our health care mission and for being an outstanding boss to our nursing staff and medical assistants.

The month of October is also National Dental Hygiene month, which also serves as the perfect opportunity to welcome our clinics’ first Dental Hygienist to our family.

Ashley Spears-Hill is a Dental Hygienist who was born and raised in Ohio and recently made the move to Louisiana. Ashley has devoted her career to public health dentistry and is passionate about helping and educating her patients on the importance of oral health while creating a compassionate and positive dental experience.

Ashley will be providing hygiene services to our clinics in New Iberia, St. Martinville, Abbeville, and Lafayette. Welcome to the ICCHC family Ashley!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is observed worldwide every October to promote and bring awareness to early detection of breast cancer, support those affected, and to advance breast cancer research. 1 in 8 women who live to age 70 will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. Breast cancer accounts for about 20% of cancers in women. Early detection boosts survival rates significantly. Talk to your health care provider about which breast cancer screening tests are right for you and when you should have them.
