January 1st isn’t about starting fresh for everyone.
Sometimes it’s just… still winter break.
Still tired. Still showing up. Still doing your best.
And honestly? That’s enough.
p.s. who had a hot tub? I wish I did… If you do, I hope you’re relaxing in it at some point. 🧖♀️

Has it been a while since you’ve gotten a massage?
Or maybe you’ve just received a gift certificate and you’re feeling a little intimidated—
Here are five simple ways to prepare:
🧼 Arrive Fresh & Clean – A quick shower before your appointment ensures you feel comfortable and refreshed. Also, it’s sort of rude to be gross. Bonus: Warm water helps loosen up your muscles!
🍲 Eat Smart – A light meal before your massage is best. You don’t want to be starving or too full—it’s hard to relax with a growling OR bloated stomach
💧 Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate! – Drinking water before and after helps you from being dehydrated, which your body does not like when it’s receiving a massage.
📝 Complete Any Forms Ahead of Time – If there’s intake paperwork, fill it out before you arrive so we can focus on you instead of paperwork.
🚽 Go P*e One More Time – Arrive a few minutes early and make sure you go to the bathroom one more time. You don’t want to have to hold it for half the massage, or worse: have to get up, get redressed, and use the facilities during.
What’s one thing you always do to get in the right headspace for self-care? 👇💆♀️

If you’re constantly rubbing your neck or rolling your shoulders just to get through the day… you’re not alone.
⠀
Here’s the real reason it keeps coming back 👇
Your upper traps and levator scapulae (the muscles along the sides/back of your neck) get tight from stress, screens, driving, kid-lifting, and “holding it all together.”
⠀
Massage helps because it increases blood flow, decreases muscle guarding, and signals your nervous system to switch out of fight-or-flight — which is the real source of most tension headaches and shoulder knots.
⠀
When these muscles finally relax, your posture opens up, your breathing deepens, and your body stops feeling like it’s fighting against you.
⠀
If you’ve been carrying the world on your shoulders lately… you don’t have to. 🩵
