Hot take about hot stone massage đ„
Hot stones are amazing for relaxing muscles and helping your body let go of tension⊠but theyâre (generally) not built for deep tissue pressure!
The stones are smooth and flat, so they glide.
They donât dig.
So if youâre craving that deeper work, the move is:
book a deep tissue massage and add hot stones.
Otherwise youâre kind of expecting two massages for the price of one đ

âIs that a knot?â People always askâŠ. Hereâs the most simple answer I can come up with:
A âknotâ isnât like a real knot inside your muscle.
Itâs not tiny rope tied up in there. đ
Instead, itâs a spot where the muscle is stuck in a tight pattern â like it wonât let go.
Why does that happen?
âą stress
âą holding your body weirdly
âą overworking certain muscles
âą chewing or jaw tension
âą lack of movement
âą your nervous system being on guard
When a muscle stays tight for a long time, it stops sliding smoothly and feels bumpy or âknotty.â
Thatâs what people feel when they say âknot.â
Massage doesnât untie a knot like a rope.
Massage helps the muscle relax and stop gripping â and tells your nervous system itâs safe to release.

If youâve never had a body wrap, hereâs what it actually looks like.
This one is a deeply hydrating wrap â so weâre exfoliating (some places will use a scrub), applying rich body butter, and then cocooning you in warmth so everything can fully absorb.
Youâre warm.

Other wraps (like mud or detox-style wraps) focus more on drawing out impurities or stimulating circulation.
