Dr. R.A. Gamagami, FACS was recently awarded the 2025 Silver Cross Sehring Medal of Excellence.

As a Top 1% World Ranked Robotic Surgeon, Dr. Gamagami is world trained (US, France, Monte Carlo, Scotland) and is board certified in IL, CA and FL.

As an Epicenter Surgeon for Intuitive , over 750 surgeons have visited Dr. Gamagami in New Lenox, IL to observe and adopt the da Vinci robot technology.

In recent years, Dr. Gamagami was invited by Australia, India and South Korea, hosted by Intuitive Surgical, to educate Surgeon Key Opinion Leaders on da Vinci. He was chosen for this role due to his exceptional surgical outcomes.

Dr. Gamagami is passionate about superior patient outcomes, his practice Progressive Surgical Associates , advancing surgical care through the adoption and education of robotic surgery and his innovative surgical techniques and having an exceptionally positive interprofessional collaboration with Silver Cross Hospital that focuses on enhanced patient care, improved efficiency and brainstorming solutions for challenges.

DR. LAUREN GHEE, MD, FACS
BOARD CERTIFIED SURGEON

Dr. Ghee joins our practice with many areas of expertise:

Dr. Ghee specializes in robotic/minimally invasive surgical approaches to hiatal hernias, abdominal wall hernias, inguinal hernias, colon resections for diverticulitis and colon cancer, and gallbladder disease.

Dr. Ghee is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and performs breast surgery for breast cancer and benign breast disease, while addressing patients' cosmetic concerns, for which she has received additional training for from the American Society of Breast Surgeons.

Dr. Ghee performs screening and surveillance, including upper endoscopy (EGD) for heartburn and Barrett's esophagus, and colonoscopies for colon cancer screening.

Dr. Ghee completed her general surgery residency at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD, after receiving her medical degree from The University of Alabama School of Medicine. She spent eight years as general surgeon at St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet, IL, where she served on multiple important committees to include the Breast Program Leadership Committee and the Commission on Cancer. She also served as Chair of the Department of Surgery from 2024-2025. Here, Dr. Ghee received the honor of 2023 Physician of the Year.

Dr. Ghee starts by listening to understand you, your symptoms and concerns. She then formulates a personalized plan to care for your health needs with the best outcome.

Dr. Ghee is bilingual in Spanish, and her interests include gardening, knitting, needlepoint, college football and spending time with her family.

DR. KEVIN RICCI, MD, MS, FACS
BOARD CERTIFIED SURGEON

Dr. Ricci joins our practice with advanced fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care and Trauma from Johns Hopkins University. He specializes in caring for patients with urgent, complex and life-threatening surgical needs, from severe injuries and emergency operations to critically ill patients in the intensive care unit.

Dr. Ricci has extensive experience performing complex operations using minimally invasive and robotic techniques, approaches that often mean smaller incisions, less pain and faster recovery for patients.

He is widely published in respected surgical journals on topics within his area of expertise and has also helped train the next generation of surgeons.

Work experience includes time spent at both NorthShore University Health System and Rush University Medical Center serving in additional roles such as Acute Care Surgery Robotics Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery.

Professional organization memberships include the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma and the Chicago Surgical Society.

Outside the operating room, Dr. Ricci is dedicated to mentorship, education and advancing innovation in surgery.
