We are very fortunate to have such a committed and driven CEO leading our team!

Theressa Kane, a member of the Voinovich School Advisory Board, was a registered nurse with Perry Behavioral Health Choices for nearly 39 years and the last 14 as executive director. 🩺

After earning a bachelor's degree in behavioral healthcare from OHIO, Theressa quickly followed it with earning a master's degree from our MPA program.

Currently, she is chief executive officer at Behavioral Health Choices, which formed after the Perry County group merged with similar providers in Guernsey, Noble, Morgan and Muskingum counties. She also volunteers at the Appalachian Center for Economic Networks.

β€œI feel I’m a voice of Appalachia because I work with folks who have struggles and watch them overcome them. That’s my honor ... I believe in paying it forward and the Advisory Board allows me to do that." 🐾

What an incredible week it has been! The week started out by celebrating our annual Shamrock Social! A great opportunity for celebrating St. Patrick's Day in a safe, recovery friendly environment πŸ’š

We also enjoyed Rock Your Socks Day🧦 This is a fun way of recognizing World Down Syndrome Day and supporting our community!

We also have been busy with levy work! As many of you know the Mental Health and Recovery Services Levy is up for renewal and will be on the ballot in May. We are reminding our community that this levy is a renewal and is no way a new tax. Approving this levy means that for roughly $0.03 per day we are able to maintain the much needed mental health and recovery services that our community desperately needs. This funding assists with covering the cost for treatment services as well as the irreplaceable prevention services for our youth, families, and seniors through the Perry County area.
