It’s National Stress Awareness Day. Here's a reminder to slow down, breathe, and take care of yourself.
Here are 5 tips to relax and de-stress.
💚 Unplug for 10 minutes - Take a brief break from screens and notifications. Use this time to stretch, journal, or simply sit quietly. You might be surprised how much lighter you feel.
💚 Do one thing you enjoy - Make time for something that makes you smile. Whether that’s listening to music, reading, cooking, or hanging out with your kids, friends, or pets.
💚 Talk to someone you trust - You don’t have to carry stress alone. Sharing your thoughts with a friend, family member, or counselor can help. Sometimes being heard can help you start to feel less stressed.
💚 Practice deep breathing - Slow, deep breathing signals your body that it’s okay to relax. Try inhaling for 4 counts and exhaling for 4 counts. Repeat a few times to calm your nervous system and clear your mind.
💚 Take a walk outside - Even a short walk can help lower stress hormones and boost your mood. Try stepping outside for a few minutes to breathe fresh air and notice your surroundings.
