Ruth is a valued member of the Tree of Life Assisted Living team and has dedicated 32 years to the long-term care field, including the past four years with Tree of Life. In her role as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA), Ruth is committed to providing the best possible care to each resident, always focusing on dignity, comfort, and compassion.

Ruth was drawn to this profession because of her genuine love for working with the elderly. Her favorite part of the job is making residents smile and helping them feel happy and cared for each day. She believes that small moments of kindness can make a meaningful difference in their lives.

Outside of work, Ruth enjoys working on crafts and spending quality time with her grandchildren. One thing you may be surprised to learn about her is that she is a twin. Ruth credits her parents as her greatest inspiration, as they instilled in her strong values of care and respect for others.

Ruth’s advice to anyone working in this field is simple yet powerful: “Take time to listen to the resident. Make the day go good.”

Jan has been a valued member of the Tree of Life Assisted Living team since the community opened in 2014. She began her career here as a Personal Care Assistant and now supports residents through her work in the kitchen and housekeeping. With 30 years of experience in long-term care, Jan brings deep knowledge, reliability, and genuine compassion to everything she does.

Her journey into this field began when a friend encouraged her to try long-term care, and she quickly discovered a true passion for serving others. Jan especially enjoys listening to residents’ stories and finding ways to make them laugh, believing that connection and joy are essential parts of quality care. Many may be surprised to learn that, in addition to her role at Tree of Life, Jan also cleans houses outside of work.

When she is not working, Jan treasures time spent with her six grandchildren. She draws inspiration from her friends and family, who continue to support and motivate her. Her advice to those entering the long-term care field reflects her own approach to caregiving: “Take the time to actually listen to the residents and take your time caring for them.”
