Physician Position:

Plaquemines Medical Center is looking for a reliable Physician to provide emergent and non-emergent healthcare services to the residents of Plaquemines Parish. This is an excellent opportunity to provide health services to a rural/underserved community.
The Physician provides medical assessments and evaluations, provides treatment for urgent and routine medical issues, supervises medical treatment for chronic medical conditions, and participates in organizational initiatives to help prevent diseases and injuries of patients in a correctional setting.
The Physician will work with the primary healthcare team to provide patients with primary medical care services. We are seeking a Physician who can provide services 2-3 days a week. Shifts are 24 hours.
OccMed/Urgent Care/ER experience is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
* Order laboratory and radiology tests and refer patients to specialists when appropriate
* Analyze reports, test results, medical records and examinations to diagnose condition of patients and propose treatment options
* Prescribe pharmaceuticals, medications and treatment regimens for medical conditions
* Discuss potential side effects of medication/treatment with patients
* Provide advice to patients for lifestyle and diet changes that may improve their health or help to treat the health issue they are experiencing
* Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives
* Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws
* Record complete, timely and legible medical records
Skills
* Current MD Licensure in Louisiana.
* Louisiana CDS and Federal DEA License
* Board Certification in required specialty is highly preferred.
* Copy of professional license (DCA) (front and back)
* A Copy of valid and current BLS and ACLS card (American Heart Association)(front & back)
* DOT/CDL Medical Examiners certification is required. (Company will assist in obtaining if needed).
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
* Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
* Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
* Ability to build rapport with patients and provide a compassionate and caring demeanor.
* Familiarity with medical terminology.
* Excellent computer proficiency (eClinicalWorks, MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook).

ROLE

The Staff Accountant must have 8-10 years plus of progressive staff accountant experience required. Sage/INTAACT experience preferred. The Staff Accountant is responsible for billing various grants, performing general ledger account and bank statement reconciliation, preparing journal entries and financial statements, creating and maintaining periodic reporting, maintaining fixed asset system, assisting with annual budgeting, compiling grant applications and expenditures reporting, preparing statistical and financial reports for creditors and agencies, maintaining records retention, and assisting the Chief Financial Officer in preparation of miscellaneous confidential correspondence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Prepares general ledger journal entries, fixed asset tracking, monthly balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliation
Generates and files monthly financial reports
Develops, analyzes, and prepares periodic financial statements for timely distribution to management
Assists with accounts payable functions including but not limited to verifying invoices, expense reports, check requests, and purchase requisitions; entering data into accounts payable system; and processing weekly check runs
Assists with accounts receivable functions including but not limited to applying payments to appropriate accounts, monthly invoicing, reconciling customer accounts, and handling customer inquiries
Reconciles petty cash fund
Assists with budget preparation
Prepares and analyzes monthly journals
Performs daily banking procedures
Maintains fixed asset and related depreciation schedules
Prepares monthly tax returns
Assists with annual external audits
Analyzes and reconciles general ledger accounts
Prepares account analyses and reconciliation
Coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures
Reviews and analyzes the organization's accounting operation; recommends improvements
Assists with related special projects as required
Performs other duties as assigned by manager
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Commitment to excellence and high standards.
Sage/INTAACT experience highly preferred
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Proficient in Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint and advanced abilities with Excel
Must have 3-5 years accounting experience desirable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable using a computer for various tasks beyond general accounting
Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
SKILLS, ABILITIES, WORK STYLES

Exceptional math skills to make accurate calculations and estimates
Knowledge and understanding of accounts payable
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
