This week, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on our girl Airi! She joined our krewe as a Program Administrator earlier this year, and we couldn’t feel luckier to have her! She’s kind, approachable, incredibly helpful, AND runs MedHub like an absolute boss! We adore her adventurous, fun-loving spirit and we’re grateful for the joy she brings to our program every day. Airi— Thank you for all that you do for the Tulane IM family. 💚✨

• Going on walks with my fiancé and our fur babies
• Went skydiving twice!!🪂

• Dancing and going out with friends 🪩
• Very beginner, but golfing! ⛳️

She is beauty. She is grace. She is our incredible Program Administrator (and Pilates Princess), Sam Daberkow! Since joining our krewe last year, Sam’s contributions have been nothing short of invaluable. Her organization and flexibility keep our program running smoothly! Her charisma is contagious, and she brings so much joy and positivity to everyone around her. We’re so grateful to have you, Sam — thank you for everything you do for the Tulane IM family! 💚⚜️

3. Hobbies: Teaching Lagree & Pilates at Romney Studios

A testament to the human side of medicine. 🎨

One of our patients filled his hospital room with his paintings and shared them with us every day. He often told us he wanted our team to have some of his work.

After his recent passing, his family honored his wish by gifting us several of his pieces. We are humbled and grateful for this gesture.

Moments like these remind us why residency is worth it. The trust, connection, and gratitude we share with patients and families make every challenge meaningful. Proud of our TUIM residents for leading with compassion every day.

Meet our Chief on Call, Dr. Cori Zalomek! ✨
She’s the perfect example of a balanced leader: incredibly driven and dedicated to the program, while remaining wonderfully kind, hilarious, and approachable. She is an incredibly helpful and wonderful person we are so lucky to look up to. Here are a few more fun facts about Cori:
1. Hometown: Irvine, CA☀️
2. Plans After Chief Year: Gastroenterology Fellowship 🩺💩
3. What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about yourself during residency? How many of the life skills I gained from playing organized sports translate directly into being a good resident. Oh, and how well I can function with so little sleep. 😴
4. What’s a hobby you’ve picked up (or re-discovered) during residency? Shooting hoops and playing pickup basketball 🏀
