AstroAlert - Sun in Aries
Well this is a shift we are all feeling. That little extra pep in your step. The itching to get something done. That's the Aries vibe that is growing daily as the Sun and a host of other planets are all lining up in that sign. There is fixing to be 6 planets in Aries this month and none of them are retrograde. That creates a tremendous forward velocity that's unstoppable. This is the first sign of the zodiac, the baby of the bunch, and because of that it is full of power, curiosity and ambition. Possessing a strong will power and real brut strength, the sign of the ram often leaps before they look and can be impulsive. They feel it's better to act first and ask questions later. While that may sound a bit foolish, they sure do make things happen and we will all be blessed with that ability this coming month. This is especially so because we were being held back by the Mercury Retrograde that just wrapped up a few days ago. Now it's all systems go and watch out world. Take some time and revisit things you had to put on the back burner. Passion projects that lost their way. Pick the one that means the most to you and dive back in. You'll be amazed at your own focus, motivation and reawakened ability to act on your impulses. One thing to watch is temper and being overly demanding as Aries never has a problem standing up for themselves or asking for what they want but can sometimes cross the line and be pushy or arrogant. Other than that, this is a time of great productivity and action. Next month things will slow down some as we move into Ta**us so make hay while the sun shines.

AstroAlert - Mercury Direct in Pisces
Yay! Hooray!! The planet of communication, Mercury, has resumed forward motion and we can all breath a collective sigh of relief. This one felt mild until the last half which started to cause the most havoc of this routine planetary transit. Anything that we were trying that required exactness became harder and harder to master as this retro stretched into the home stretch, especially if it entailed technology, timing, discussions and agreements. I myself lost some time having to do things repeatedly that should only have needed to be accomplished once. That is one of the reasons we astrologers get a bit antsy about warning everyone to refrain from any major actions and decisions till the planet shifts. It only lasts about 3 weeks when it does happen and it happens several times a year. There are many things that are favored when it's retrograde and that is anything that begins we the prefix "RE"...reorganize, refresh, rework, reinvigorate, these are the things to do during these astro cycles. I know that in today's high paced world, it's hard to just stop and wait it out but try to be mindful when these cycles occur and maybe that's the whole point, just to slow down and smell the roses and practice patience and the value of having a plan B. We are free now until the next one in late June so relax some and put your balls in motion again. We have a host of action transits coming up in April so there will be plenty of energy to catch up on any time we lost this month. And, as always, keep looking up.

AstroAlert - New Moon in Pisces
At 8:23pm on 3/18, central time, there is a New Moon in Pisces. It joins Mars and Mercury as they spend a bit of time finishing up what they've been up too. Pisces is the last sign in the zodiac so it is often a time of tying up loose ends. Usually New Moons are good times for initiating things but that is being hampered by the Mercury Retrograde in Pisces in the ending phase of it's backwards journey. And with Mars in Pisces too many of us have felt like we've been swimming underwater here. We will feel emotional cause the sign of the fishes is all about the feelings and with these transits we'll be pretty psychic too. What do we do with that energy here, you may wonder. I feel it's a good time for using your imagination to envision the world you want to see, to dream about your hopes and wishes and see if you don't get some intuitive messages as how to make them happen in your life. We are coming real close to the time of Aries which will catapult us forward after this slightly murky phase. Take a few moments to check in on how you're feeling these days and see if there are things you can do to help make them better for you. If you're stressed, let that dissolve and allow yourself to ok with uncertainty. If you're feeling overwhelmed, lay your burdens down and let them be washed away my the Piscean energy sweeping through for the last time in a while. What we have coming in a few days is Mercury Direct and Sun joining Neptune and Saturn in Aries. While Mercury and Mars will stay in Pisces a while longer the emphasis on feelings will shift into the action of Aries and things will begin to move forward. For now pay attention to your intuition and allow your emotions some grace. There is a lot going on in this world right now. Give yourself and others some love and support too. And, as always, enjoy riding the cosmic wave.

AstroAlert - Jupiter Direct In Cancer
Ever since November we have all been a bit hampered in how things are moving forward in out lives. Jupiter, the planet of good luck and expansion, has been going backwards and having most of us feeling a little stuck. Think of anything that you had going on last year that stalled out or lost momentum. Very likely Jupiter being retrograde was the culprit. It's in the sign of Cancer which is a sign of emotions, nurturing, healing and security. It also rules our sense of home and place. Any of these areas of your life may have felt challenged or stuck. Tomorrow the shift will occur and it may be subtle at first. Usually retrograde planets take a week or so to really shake out when they regain forward motion. You might want to take a few minutes now and ask yourself if you have given up on any hopes and wishes or if any particular area in your life has felt restricted. Also if you have any Cancer placements in your chart take a look at that to shed light on what area you've been most affected. I have some planets in Cancer and my ruling planet is Jupiter so I'm pretty excited to get back in step with somethings I've been working on this year. I hope your way forward becomes clear too and that we all get a lucky nudge in the directions of our dreams. PS - it's a powerful time to do affirmations and manifesting so get busy setting positive intentions and ask Jupiter for his fortune to smile upon you now. We are working our way to a powerful New Moon that will trine Jupiter and that's some extra good mojo. I'll write more about that as we get closer.

AstroAlert - Venus in Aries
This one is a big shift as the planet of love & beauty, Venus, enters the sign of action & energy, Aries. It is also moving from the last sign of the zodiac to the first and so some folks saw the ending of old relationships, while this may bring along new ones or help the old ones get a new start. It always coincides with the start of Spring and gives us all the needed energy to take action in creating and appreciating new beginnings. Often a time of falling in love at first sight, we aren't shy under this transit and will declare our affections early on in the game and many even experience surprise proposals at this time. Affairs of the heart are encouraged to grow and move forward when Venus is in Aries too. Keep in mind that Mercury is still retrograde so don't make any permanent decisions now but after it goes direct on 3/20, all systems are go. Al in all, this is a really pleasant transit but one thing to be mindful of is that we may make unrealistic expectations from a partner and want everything right now. Next month things will slow down a bit when Venus goes into Ta**us so give yourself and others some grace, including yourself. For now, enjoy the moments and seize the day.

AstroAlert - Mars in Pisces
The planet of war & action, Mars, has slipped in to the sign of emotions & expansion, Pisces. This could stir up a lot of feelings within each of us that will need to be expressed. Mars is a fiery planet and Pisces is a watery sign so some of our energy will just turn into steam and evaporate but there may also be energy that is released like a wave that knocks us and others over. Mars is very confrontational and Pisces is very elusive so often time they kind of cancel each other out but there will be moments when you want to hide. Add to this that the planet of communications, Mercury, is also in Pisces but going in retrograde and you may feel on the verge of tears a few times this month. The other thing I'm seeing here is that we are all going to be highly in tune with psychic insight that will urge us to act on our intuition and, while we should trust it, Mercury is retrograde so do it with care. You may also find yourself feeling super spiritual and seek time to contemplate the meaning of life. Pisces is not a shallow sign and often seek answers about the meaning of life. One big warning is that Pisces has a big appetite for everything so overindulgence is something to be mindful off. Another thing to remember is to give yourself chances to rest and recharge or you could get cranky with others. I suggest listening to your inner voice, asking big questions and allowing yourself to visualize the world you want to make for yourself.

AstroAlert - Full Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse in Virgo - 3.3.2026
Hey y'all, this is a biggie and a culmanation of a lot of planetary energy that been building. Pretty sure all of us can admit that life has felt a bit tense as of late. Stress, fear, aggression have been fueling the world around us. War, unrest...it feels like everyday has a new shocking headline to alarm us. Our cortisol is spiking and many are just plain burnt out. Somethings got to shift, right? Well, here comes a cosmic reset opportunity in the guise of a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse and being a Blood Moon, she is wearing a red dress to get our attention. She is bringing some relief as eclipses wipe stuff away and, Lord knows, we need a cleansing and fresh start about now. On a global level, I pray for an end to conflict, lack and strife. On a personal level, I pray for an end of self doubt, criticism and sabotage. How I plan to use the astrological energy available is to sit down and write out every single thing I can think of that stands in the way of me being my best self. I plan on taking an intentional shower and visualizing all of that going down the drain. I plan on dancing to help raise the vibration and shake off all the crap I've been carrying around. I hope you will find a way to let all your stuff go too. This eclipse is occurring at 3:33am PT(yes 3:33am on 3/3), 5:33am CT and 6:33am ET. Don't expect instant results as eclipses take a while to shake out but if you use this time to do a spiritual sacrifice by letting go of what no longer serves you, you will feel it work in time. AstroAlert - A Planetary Parade
Here in New Orleans we know a few things about parades. We just wrapped up several weeks of Mardi Gras season which is all about supporting the float riders and all the joy they bring. Tonight we have a cosmic parade happening up in the heavens as six major planets line up to have a little celebration of their own. Either that or they've called a meet up cause we are screwing things up down here. I often wonder what the planets would be saying about our antics as each one has it's own personality and gifts they bring to us on Earth. Whatever the reason for their meet up, I believe they are also there to usher in the upcoming Full Moon Lunar Eclipse happening on 3/3. The astrology of March is lit, y'all, and it my hope these 6 are the chaperones to help corral all the energy that's going to be spinning around. These are all the big players, only one missing is Mars so that's a lot of planetary power right there. While I'm seeing several different reasons why they chose this time to align, I'll focus on the idea that they are here to help and be the adults in the room. AstroAlert - Mercury Retrograde in Pisces
Today the planet of communication, timing & equipment, Mercury, starts it's reverse course in the sign of spirituality, subconscious & psychic ability, Pisces. I've been feeling it the past few days already in that I've had a hard time concentrating and saying what I mean. We may feel a bit cloudy as we have just been dunked underwater and have to get our bearings below sea level. The sign of the fishes hates raw, stark reality and has to blur the edges and soften the truth. This can be great in any creative and spiritual pursuits but can really screw with day to day operations in the mundane world. Pisces hates limitations and is not a fan of the word NO. This can cause us overindulgence so watch out not to do too much of anything, especially escapism. Back in the 80s, when I was working doing readings in the Quarter, I always knew when there was a Pisces transit cause the bars would still be busy on Sunday morning. Larger than life, this is a sign that likes more, more, more. Some good things that are possible now is to get in touch with your intuition as this is the sign that is the most psychic and Mercury is the bearer of messages. Keep a notepad handy and write down any insights you receive. And being that it's moving backwards, this is a great time to ask for answers to questions about things from the past. Old wounds will likely open and this energy can help point you in the direction of healing. The overarching theme I see with this transit is all the feelings it will bring up. There are some additional planetary energies driving us to release our old selves and step into our truths. One last note is that it is imperative that you thoroughly vet anything or anyone making you big promises. While I do believe in magic and possibility, Pisces, with it's enthusiasm, can oversell sometimes. If during these 3 weeks you think something is too good to be true, it likely is so do your due diligence and postpone any big purchases, decisions and commitments. Next week is the eclipse and I'll cover that in a few days. For now try to stay positive, aware and go with the flow.
