Someone needs to go to the NOPD and explain to them how to properly refer to trans folk.

The NOPD is asking for the public's assistance with locating a suspect wanted for theft and illegal possession of stolen property.

Wanted is Mackenzie "Maple" Ryder (pictured, DOB 02/29/2000, 5' 10", 125 pounds). According to investigators, the victim allowed Ryder to stay at her residence in the 1800 block of South Rendon Street in October 2025. The victim later discovered multiple items missing from her residence. Ryder is suspected of selling the stolen items to a business in Baton Rouge on October 25. Ryder is also wanted in Baton Rouge and Lake Charles regarding additional theft incidents in those jurisdictions.

Anyone with information regarding Ryder's whereabouts is asked to contact NOPD Second District detectives at 504-658-6020 or to call Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans anonymously at 504-822-1111.
