LSU is celebrating a major achievement in the global scientific community.
Dr. Lucio Miele, Director of the LSU LCMC Health Cancer Center, has been named a 2025 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. One of the highest honors in science.
He was recognized for his groundbreaking contributions to cancer experimental therapeutics and precision medicine, including his work on Notch signaling in breast cancer and cancer immunity. His leadership has helped expand cutting-edge cancer research and bring advanced treatments to patients across Louisiana.
Also earning this prestigious distinction are Peter Doran and Bret Elderd from the LSU College of Science, joining a distinguished class of scientists whose work is shaping the future of research, education, and innovation worldwide.
