Every shift, every patient, every lesson — it all reminds me why I chose this path. 💉💛

Working as a PCT taught me what true compassion and dedication look like. Now, as a nursing student, I’m walking fully in my purpose — to care, to advocate, and to make a difference in the field I love.

When I decided to return to school to pursue nursing, I was scared of starting over. But I learned that growth happens when we move beyond comfort. Every “no” was preparing me for the right “yes.” 🙏🏽

This journey has taught me more than any textbook ever could. Nursing school isn’t just about grades — it’s about growth, grace, and gratitude.

Those uncertain moments prepare you to stand taller — growth is born in the struggle.

The neurological system tells us more than words ever can — every reaction, movement, and response gives insight into brain and nerve function.
As nurses, it’s our role to listen to what the body is saying before the alarm does. 💬

📋 Neuro Assessment Breakdown:
1️⃣ Level of Consciousness: Use the AVPU scale (Alert, Verbal, Pain, Unresponsive) — shows how the brain reacts to stimuli.
2️⃣ Motor Function: Check strength, grip, and movement on both sides.
3️⃣ Pupil Response: Assess equality, roundness, and light reactivity (PERRLA).
4️⃣ Sensory Function: Test with touch or temperature — loss of sensation may indicate nerve damage.

Remember L.P.M.S.R. → Level, Pupils, Motor, Sensory, Reflexes

Neuro checks are one of the most important nursing assessments — especially for patients with head injuries, stroke symptoms, or post-surgery recovery. Every second matters when it comes to the brain. ⏱️

Here’s what nurses assess during a neuro check:
1️⃣ Orientation — Ask person, place, time, and situation. Watch for confusion or delay.
2️⃣ Speech & Response — Notice slurred or delayed words and tone.
3️⃣ Pupils (PERRLA) — Pupils Equal, Round, Reactive to Light and Accommodation.
4️⃣ Motor Strength — Squeeze hands, push/pull feet, and compare sides.
5️⃣ Sensation — Light touch or cotton swab; check for numbness or tingling.
6️⃣ Observation — Look for facial drooping, jerky movements, or asymmetry.

my story

Care matrix llc was dream up from a girl who grow up in New Orleans Louisiana. Who had great experience from other who taught her how to take care of her son and her self. By providing her with the tool she need to dress for success. Take nutrition classes to eat healthy for her and her baby. Also parenting classes to ensure she will be able to take care of her son. She also learned job skills as well. Getting help with resumes and job training along the way. All these skills afforded her a way to provide for her son and her self. She is now in hopes and a lot of afford to offer her talent and skills. Are know how to help reach and teach others women how to better care for them selves. Being a better provider and skills to elevate them selves to great heights. By giving back to her community like other so long ago help her along the way. This is way i founded and started care matrix and women helping women in Louisianan. To inspire many to give back to their community and help one another. This is my vision and goals for my companies and people in my community. To help other grow and be successful.
