Annette Cambronero Buras

In Loving Memory of Annette C. Buras

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Annette C. Buras, who left this world to join her heavenly father, on February 18, 2026 after a courageous and fiercely fought battle with pancreatic cancer. She was diagnosed on Nov, 5, 2020. Born in New Orleans, Annette’s vibrant spirit and deep-rooted love for her city remained with her throughout her life. She lived, worked, and built a legacy of compassion, laughter, and dedication in the place she called home. Annette was the heart and soul of her family. She is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, Tommy Buras, whose devotion was mirrored in her own unwavering love for him; her son, Jack T. Buras, of whom she was endlessly proud of; her caring sister, Margery Gilbert; and brother Guido Perez. She was also a cherished aunt to Matthew Gilbert (Jessie) and Kaelen Oubre (Jeff), with whom she shared many warm and joyful memories. Her loving mother, Gloria Cambronero, and loving father, Isaias Cambronero predeceased her. Family was everything to Annette. Whether it was camping under the stars, cheering at NASCAR races in Daytona, boating on Lake Pontchartrain, or creating magical memories at Disney, she embraced life’s adventures with open arms and an open heart. Her favorite gatherings were the simple ones — crawfish boils and backyard barbecues surrounded by laughter, good food, music, and the people she loved most. Annette found joy in the everyday: reading a good book, cooking a delicious meal, and, above all, spending time with her family. Her commitment to those she loved — especially Tommy and Jack — was boundless and pure Professionally, Annette served as the Continuing Legal Education Coordinator for the Louisiana State Bar Association for 33 years, a role she cherished deeply. Through her work, she traveled, built lasting friendships, and met countless lawyers and judges whose respect and admiration she earned. Her involvement with ACLEA (Association of Continuing Legal Education) was particularly meaningful; she held numerous roles within the organization but found her greatest joy in the friendships that blossomed there. These special bonds led to the formation of an unofficial group lovingly called "the Bs" — a circle of unwavering support, faith, and love that stood by her during her illness. Annette also gave back to her community in many ways. During Jack’s grammar school years at Christ the King Church, she proudly served on the school board and as a Eucharistic Minister for the church — roles she considered true honors. With a sense of humor that could light up any room, Annette was known for her ability to make people smile, her sincere listening ear, and her warm, comforting hugs. She had a gift for lifting others up — often with a prayer, a kind word, or simply her presence. Annette leaves this world with gratitude in her heart — for Tommy, Jack, Margery, and the Bs — whose love and support were constant strength. She touched countless lives and left each one better than she found it. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 12 noon at Christ the King Catholic Church 535 Deerfield Rd. Terrytown, Louisiana. Visitation will be held at the church from 9am until 12pm. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, Louisiana. We would like to thank Ochsner Medical Westbank and Ochsner The Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Research Hospital for their amazing care. Dr. Mizrahi and his team were always honest and truthful. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a donation to the Ochsner Cancer Research Hospital. Annette will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

“There are some who bring a light so great to the world, that even after they have gone, the light remains.”

REMEMBER: He became one of us, so that we could become like Him.

Brenda Trupiano Ordoyne

Brenda Trupiano Ordoyne, 84, passed peacefully on February 10, 2026, and is now joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, William Karl Ordoyne, Sr. She was born on November 11, 1941, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Joseph Thomas Trupiano and Elodie Catherine Laborde Trupiano.

Brenda married the love of her life, affectionately known as Billy, on May 28, 1960. Together, they raised William Karl Ordoyne, Jr., Keri Ann Ordoyne Walker, and Kirk Anthony Ordoyne. Their life was grounded in Catholic faith, devotion to the Blessed Mother, and love for their family.

Brenda devoted her life to her family. Those who knew her best remember her saying all she ever wanted was to be a wife and mom. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by their infant son, Keith John Ordoyne, whom she now joins in the light of Christ.

Left to cherish her memory are William Karl Ordoyne, Jr. and wife Sonja; Keri Ann Ordoyne Walker and husband Craig; and Kirk Anthony Ordoyne and wife Stacie; her grandchildren Caitlin (Kyle Aucoin), Kale, Liam, Aidan, and Audrey Ordoyne; Laurel Walker; Gavin, Connor, and Logan Ordoyne; and her great-grandchildren Everett, Cecilia, and Theodore.

Brenda was especially close to her sister, JoAnn LeJeune, and her husband, Berwick, both of whom preceded her in death. She also cherished her family bond with Robert Pourciau, who was raised alongside her husband, and with Lynne Pourciau, her friend and constant companion. Brenda loved her nieces, nephews, and godchildren who held a very special place in her heart. She also cherished her cousins and lifelong friends.

Brenda’s spirit — and the many times she made us shake our heads and laugh — will forever live in our hearts. May she enjoy Heaven in all its glory.

In lieu of flowers, the greatest gift you gave Mom was your love during her life. The family kindly asks that prayers or Masses be offered for the repose of Brenda's soul, as this was a devotion she faithfully practiced for others throughout her life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 610 Sixth Street, Gretna, Louisiana 70053. Entombment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Avenue, Terrytown, Louisiana 70056.

Diane Fetzer Niddrie

Diane Marie Fetzer Niddrie passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the age of 68, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born in Commack, New York, on March 9th, 1957. She is the wife of Philip Niddrie; the mother of Patrick and Philip Niddrie; the grandmother of Niko Martin Niddrie and Cecilia Iris Niddrie. She was born to the late Martin and Teresa Fetzer. She is also survived by her siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.

A native of Commack, and proud resident of New Orleans, Louisiana for over 44 years, Diane graduated from Commack High School, in 1975. After high school she attended Piedmont Community College in Charlottesville, Virginia and earned her Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care. Diane began her professional career as a Respiratory Therapist at UVA in Charlottesville, VA, continued on Long Island, NY. She grew up in New York and fell in love with Philip Niddrie, who convinced her to move down to New Orleans in 1982. Together they raised two young whippersnappers while she continued her career in respiratory therapy at Southern Baptist Hospital. She worked through that hospital’s infamous Katrina episode, saving lives by manually pumping air with a bag valve mask for five days straight in 100 degree temperatures until every last patient was evacuated. She finally retired in 2024. Diane was a successful and well-respected Respiratory Therapist in the New Orleans area.

She loved going out to see music and I’m pretty sure she never missed a Jazz Fest. She loved our friends like they were her nieces and nephews. The happiest I ever saw her was when Sarah and I told her she was going to be a grandma. She loved those kids as much as anyone can love anything, and watching that firsthand reminded me what an amazing mother she was. Sarah described it as uncomplicated love; you never questioned it for a second. She was the safety net that gave us the confidence to take risks, pursue our dreams and occasionally make questionable decisions. I am extremely grateful for the impact that love had on my development as a person.

She was a young, healthy and strong 68 year-old when she was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. The prognosis was grim from the start, but she gave it her best. She was surrounded by family and friends when she passed. We will miss her dearly.”

We will remember her as a joyful, welcoming presence whose vibrancy matched the city that she loved. She made friends easily and she was a mentor to countless colleagues. Diane was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. She enjoyed spending time skating and cycling, working out in Elmwood Ochsner gym and listening to live music, whether indoors or out. However, her true passion was spending time with her loving family and friends. Diane was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memories of her cherished friends and family.

“To Mom

Your warmth held us like a cozy bed through the night

before we were born,

before we knew what cold was.

Your love kept us warm like a puffy jacket

on a brisk New Orleans winter morning.

Now it is afternoon; the sun has risen

and we are fine in our T-shirts.

We passed those jackets down to your grandkids.

As the sun shines from above, warming my face,

I can hear your voice

reminding me to put on my sunscreen;

and I take comfort knowing

that the sun will shine forever.”

-Patrick

Her husband Philip’s reply to the beautiful poem was as follows:

“Patrick….i haven’t cried for almost 24 hours straight but you brought an end to that…she was everything you said more… She was as wonderful a wife as I could have had. We were like cats and dogs sometimes but we kissed good night every night but two in the span of 41 years.

She was a Registered Respiratory Therapist for almost 44 years. Ironic that lung cancer would get her. She spent the majority of 41 years at Baptist and then Ochsner in the Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Units. When I met the nurses in those units at the Christmas parties the consensus was always the same..when Diane was there they were very happy…and when she wasn’t there, need I say it? How often do doctors at the bedsides ask a lowly therapist their opinion about a patient’s status? With her, frequently. The medical residents often sought her knowledge and learned from her.

It didn’t surprise me. Her entire career she would often, after the usual twelve hours of work with 18000 steps on her pedometer, come home and study respiratory books and texts. She was very conscientious and didn’t miss a single day of work in all those years. Diane may have been late once..two minutes? Up at 5:15a and returning at 7:30p…really?

She was my best friend, a great cook, wonderful mother and grandmother, super White Tornado of a housecleaner..and sweet lover, not necessarily in that order..

I have been, and still am, a lucky guy….”

Many thanks to the wonderful people both at Serenity Hospice and Mothe Funeral Home. Together they helped greatly with Diane’s passage from life to death.

In lieu of flowers please kindly consider contributions to Camp Pelican of New Orleans. Donations can be made at: www.camppelican.org

A private service will be held at a later date.

Sheila Joy Harris

Sheila Joy McClain Harris passed away on January 12th, 2026 at the age of 68. Sheila was born on September 8th, 1957 in Langdale, Alabama.

Sheila went to Valley High School in Riverview, Alabama and worked as an assistant manager at McDonald's, and later as a physical education teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard Milford and Pearl Jane (Lucille) McClain and her sister Chloette Osborn. She is survived by her husband Mark Harris; two children, Kyle Harris and Tamara Day (Mike); and her four grandchildren, Kyle Harris, Jr., Kayli Harris, Aubrey Day, and Taylor Day; her siblings Milford McClain, and Kathy McClellan; nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Stephanie, Belinda, Stephen, Chastity, and David; as well as many other beloved family and friends.

A devoted mother and grandmother, the love of her life was her children and grandchildren. Sheila loved tending to her garden daily with the goal of providing a welcoming habitat for birds, bees, and butterflies as well as a peaceful restorative place. Her second favorite place to be was the beach: early sunrises and long walks, napping in the shade while listening to the surf, and then long walks for sunset.

Sheila had a special gift for making any house a home for all who entered. Days spent working in the garden, evenings enjoying her garden, and then dinner with a movie at home were the happiest of times. Earning a childhood nickname of "Happy," which truly characterizes her, she had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to laugh, and always had the most beautiful smile and sparkling eyes. Above all, she understood what truly mattered: family, love, and the joy of being together. Her warmth, kindness, and zest for life touched everyone who knew her.

She was the most wonderful mother and grandmother our kids and grandkids could have ever wished for. She was my best friend, my rock, my guiding light, my world.

Fischer and Magdalena Sottile Fisher, passed away peacefully at her home on December 30, 2025. She was a remarkable woman that leaves behind a legacy of love, lifelong accomplishments, and great adventures. Rayelynn obtained her formal education locally in New Orleans studding to be a Paralegal at UNO and attended Warren Easton High School.

Rayelynn was very proud of her children, dedicated her life to her family, and took every opportunity to share her love of travel with them. She was a fearless world traveler, always eager for new adventures and excited to explore unfamiliar corners of the world together. Yet, no matter how far she roamed, her heart was forever drawn back to her family’s roots in Sicily, Italy.

Rayelynn loved attending parties and events as she was always the life of the party and her infectious laughter and loving spirit brightened the lives of all. But when it came to her passion for football, it was a league of its own, just ask the die‑hard New Orleans Saints and Tulane Green Wave fans she ran with, they could tell you a tale or two. Just recently, another team made the list, the Mississippi State Bulldogs where her granddaughter Juju attends.
