Samhain blessings ✨🎃🤍

This is always my favorite time of year. ✨ Yes, the leaves are changing and the witchy vibes are peaking, but what I love most is the deeply spiritual nature of autumn. It’s nostalgic. It’s comforting. It’s intuitive. Whether you recognize it or not, your body feels it. 🤍

I hope this week brings you joy no matter what you do - whether you’re praying or partying. I myself am definitely doing a bit of both 🤘🏼

For the full Sturgeon Moon, I’m reminded that things take time, and—if we’re lucky—life is a long, prosperous journey, not an end-goal to meet. 🤍

Falling in August on the final breaths of summer, this moon reminds me to pause and enjoy where I am. Even as Starbucks teases the PSL and HomeGoods unloads the Halloween decorations, summer is still very much alive.

In a world that practically begs us to jump from thing to thing, can we take a moment to pause and linger?

I teach connection. Connection to the body, to nature and to that universal love that holds us all together! In my yoga teaching, we connect the body and the breath as a form of emotional and spiritual self-care. Through this connection, we embody compassion, joy and strength for ourselves & others. In my astrology and seasonal connection teachings, we tune in to the energies of nature to inspire harmony & optimal growth in our daily lives!

I found yoga like a lot of people do – from the bottom of a broken heart with nowhere to go.

I’d dabbled with different poses when I was younger thanks to my mom’s old Yoga Journal VHS tapes. My best friend and I would laugh as we flopped over the floor in attempted shoulder stands. I carried a bit of the practice with me to college, but then – like a lot of people – I got busy. I had schoolwork, a job, sports practices, a boy - and I let my sense of self slip through the cracks. It wasn’t until I was standing at the wrong end of a painful breakup with no sense of direction that I realized I’d lost myself somewhere along the way.

After that, I threw myself head-first in to my yoga practice and the study of spirituality and meditation. I cried openly on my mat, created space in my body & my heart as I found my way back to myself. I realized how transformative yoga and self-study could be, and I wanted to share that with others.

Not long after, I made the decision to leave everything in my Midwestern home and relocate to New Orleans. I knew I wanted to study yoga & experience a bigger life, and that’s all I needed. I came down to the swamps with a wonderful support group, survived a flood, robberies, terrible service jobs on Bourbon Street, and began my studies as a yoga teacher.

New Orleans also provided a wonderful opportunity to explore and expand my interests. I began studying herbalism and earth-based spirituality, which expanded my ideas of healing and religion.

Now I’m a 200 HR RYT yoga instructor & wellness coach. I’m honored and thrilled to share my passion and the principles of this practice with my beautiful, New Orleans community.
