The turning of the proverbial page into a New Year can bring up a mixed bag of concerns regarding our physical, mental, and emotional health. While some folks love the fresh clean slate of a new year, others are bogged down by feelings of sadness and loss that another year has passed. No matter where you are on this outlook spectrum, your energetic field requires cleansing and this is a perfect time. Our bodies hold on to the energy of the past. I'm in a NEW LOCATION and I LOVE it!

My new acupuncture location is in New Oxford, PA! My family has owned this property since the 1950s, and I've spent my whole life coming here. And now I've moved in. Preparing this space for patients has been bittersweet. I've seen so much transformation take place within these walls from a small child to now. And now I continue to witness the transformation of my patients in these sacred walls. It was a HUGE weekend here for The Acupuncture Queen!!! My beloved friend and colleague and I took the 3rd and final exam for the NCCAOM Diplomate of Acupuncture designation. I wish I knew how many hours of studying was put in. It took watching days worth of lectures, early morning Zoom study sessions, practice quizzes, and making up silly mnemonics all while treating patients full-time and managing all the other things in life! Next step, complete the final steps to be recognized as a Diplomate of Acupuncture!

So what's so great about Diplomate? A Diplomate of Acupuncture is an acupuncturist certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). It is a considerable professional achievement to earn the designation Diplomate of Acupuncture. Certification indicates to employers, patients, and peers that one has met national standards for the safe and competent practice of acupuncture as defined by the Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AOM) profession. National board certification in acupuncture has been the mark of excellence in AOM since the inception of the Commission in 1982.

The weekend was spent extending my knowledge of Acupuncture and Chinese medicine and I would not have wanted to spend it any other way! I learned more amazing acupuncture points and broadened my knowledge base so I can help more patients get back to optimal health. No one has asked, “Why did you name your acupuncture practice, The Acupuncture Queen?” but I want to tell you why anyway.

For me, a real Queen is a Passionate Servant…a volunteer who stands willingly before her kingdom. She has battle wounds of her own and knows suffering. Because of it, she lives to walk beside others as they see trauma, experience trauma, and heal trauma. She dedicates herself to easing her people’s suffering. This Queen is the Heart of her Kingdom. She devotes her life to her Kingdom’s vitality and well-being. She has the ability to resolve issues and can adapt in any situation. She is humble and dedicated, it’s never about politics, it’s always about people and peace within the Kingdom.

An Acupuncture Queen is a Passionate Servant…a volunteer who stands willingly before her community. She has been sick and unhealthy and knows suffering. Because of it, she is committed to walking beside her patients as they take their health journey. She dedicates herself to providing personalized treatment to each unique person. She listens deeply, adapts in any situation, and pursues peace for the body, mind, and spirit in the Kingdom that is you. She respects everyone and holds them in light, it’s never about insurance companies, it’s always about whole person healing.
