We had the most fun soaking up the sun and making a collective chalk art mural! The theme was super hero/ popstar mash up. ☀️🌟

Each girl began creating their own superhero or popstar and we rotated every 2 minutes, adding to the next person’s mural. We encouraged the girls to think about their best qualities and what they want to stand out. The process was so fun ☺️

Spring has sprung and so have our next round of groups! 🌱 we are planting seeds and setting our intentions for the next season of groups where we will support one another in growing, blooming, and evolving 🫶🏽

Shout out to for hosting us last Friday and letting us use their pool table! 🎱

Our life skills group is stoked to visit this Friday to celebrate the last chapter of this season of group and all that we’ve accomplished together. We’re looking forward to play some pool together and enjoy some delish appetizers 😋

Friday’s Life Skills group made a group collage and it came out sooo good! They took turns adding the pieces they wanted to. There’s something on the collage to represent every girl in group 💜

This connection web is a visual of how connected we are in our Wednesday group! This is a fun ice breaker activity for kids and adults in groups. 🕸️

Here’s how to do it:
Grab a ball of yarn. The person holding it says something that’s true for them, and tosses it to someone that also shares that in common. Every time the ball of yarn is tossed and received by another person, group members hold on to part of the string. Toss it until it all the string is used up and the result is a beautiful web symbolizing shared connections!

Have you ever gone to IGT and seen handprints on the walls or ceilings? Our handprint ritual is an IGT tradition! It’s something we do for group members to leave their mark and honor their time in group, as well as the generations of women+ that have come before. During last week’s life skills group, we did our handprint ritual and welcomed 3 new group members and shared encouraging words to each person 🩷

In the spirit of the new year and aligning our focus, we recently set intentions in our Friday Life Skills group. Our group members want to practice their independence, saying no, calming their body, feeling prepared, asking for help, and and building their confidence in group. Aren’t those some awesome skills?!

Meet our intern, Siobhan! 💜
Siobhan DuPont (she/her) is an intern at IGT who is earning her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from New Paltz in May 2026. She gained ample experience working with youth from all different backgrounds at after school programs at community centers in high school. After earning her undergraduate degree from SUNY New Paltz in 2018, she worked as a youth advocatefor a non-profit in Kingston. Siobhan believes it is essential to cultivate healthy self-esteem in kids and young adults. She loves working with youth to strengthen their sense of self and develop healthy coping skills for the challenges that come with life. She embraces an integrative approach and is thrilled to be part of IGT. In her free time, Siobhan loves to travel, lift weights, and spend time with her loved ones.

Community is built piece by piece and our Wednesday night Girls Group proved that yesterday. Each member decorated a puzzle piece reflecting their strengths and what they bring to the group. Together, they create something powerful.

It’s ! Help us welcome our newest clinician, Sara! 🌸

Sara (she/her) is a Mental Health Counselor Limited Permit (MHC-LP) who received her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marist University. Originally from Westchester, NY, she completed her undergraduate degree at SUNY New Paltz, and is eager to give back to the New Paltz community. Sara has experience working with adults with substance abuse and college students navigating social and emotional challenges.

Sara’s approach is holistic and client-centered; she aims to empower each client with a safe space to find themselves and reach their fullest potential. In her free time, Sara can be found caring for her many plants or exploring hiking spots around the Hudson Valley.

Sara brings so much energy and excitement balanced with empathy and care. We’re so glad to have her on our team at IGT! 💜

Guess what day it is?! 👋🏼 Allow us to introduce one of our new clinicians, ✨Ari ✨🥳

Ari (she/her) is a Mental Health Counselor Limited Permit (MHC-LP) who received her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marist University. Ari is originally from Argentina but grew up in Newburgh, NY. She is bilingual in Spanish and English and hopes to utilize her skills with the Hispanic community. Ari has clinical experience working with adults in substance use and college age students. She worked as a paraprofessional in an elementary school and is excited to continue working with adolescences at IGT. In her free time Ari enjoys reading, doing puzzles and spending time with her friends and family.

We’re so excited to have Ari at IGT. She brings so much warmth, care, and compassion to her work. Thank you for being a part of the team, Ari 💖 We are all about empowering and uplifting our girls. Feel free to show her some love in the comments! ☺️
