This is a simple technique that can help to bring relief to the people who suffer from this condition.

Any time an internal body part pushes into an area where it doesn’t belong, it’s called a hernia. When we eat, food travels down the esophagus passing though a small opening (hiatus) in the diaphragm, before entering the stomach. Normally, there are several mechanisms to prevent acid from flowin...

Just like a lot of small businesses during these times, I have had a challenge of finding enough people to work with. I haven’t posted in quite a while and since then we’ve added Maggie Gibbons and her sister, Charlotte Gibbons to our team. They are both incredible massage therapists. Maggie is available Tuesday and Wednesday and Charlotte is available Friday and Saturday. We also have one other person who will be starting with us soon. Her name is Rebecca and she will be here on Monday and Thursday. Johanna also has some time in her schedule. Thank you for being patient with us as we went through the transition of understaffing, but I think we finally have it under control.
I hope to see you soon. ❤️

Someone asked me for photos of the Center and I realized that I hadn’t posted any here. We have a reception desk, waiting room and four treatment rooms ( only three are photographed) and a full bathroom. As well as five licensed massage therapists ready to ease your aches and calm your soul. 😊

We will begin a slow reopening of the Center in the coming days. Appointments will be limited as we are working on a reduced schedule.
It's been a long 4 months and we are looking forward to seeing you again. Please read the following letter we have written in an effort to assure that our reopening goes safely for our clients and therapists.

Dear Clients,
Please be assured that we are doing our very best to keep our office sanitized and safe and are trying to prevent any spread of COVID-19. It is important to understand that it’s impossible for us to completely eliminate any chance of you being exposed to COVID- 19 while receiving a massage at Center for Therapeutic Massage
To ensure the safety of our clients and therapists we are taking the following safety precautions:
۞As required by NY State, all therapists will be getting COVID tested every two weeks.
۞We will be limiting the number of people in the office at any one time. Please wait in your car and your therapist will call or come out to get you when the massage room is ready for you.
۞Clients must wash their hands upon entering the center.
۞Therapists and clients will wear a mask at all times.
۞We will be using a non-contact thermometer and/or pulse oximeter to check temperature and oxygen levels of clients and therapists.
۞We have installed a HEPA air purifier in each massage room.
۞We are using hands-free soap and hand sanitizer dispensers.
۞All surfaces in the massage rooms, bathroom, and common area will be thoroughly sanitized with hospital grade, EPA approved, disinfectant between each session.
۞Clean linen and soiled linen will not be stored in the same area.
۞As always, we thoroughly wash our hands before and after each massage.
We ask that you are on time for your appointment so that we will have enough time between clients to completely sanitize the massage room and common areas.
We ask for your honesty and transparency that you have been practicing safety precautions while in public. You have not traveled to any highly populated/high-risk area, visited a nursing home, hospital, or traveled out of state in the past 14 days. You have not come into contact with another person with COVID-19 or tested positive for COVID-19 yourself. You have no symptoms including but not limited to, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, fever, chills, loss of taste or smell.
Contact us immediately if you should show signs of the virus shortly after your visit to the Center.
By signing this waiver, you are agreeing that you acknowledge that massage therapy is an activity of close proximity, we cannot practice social distance during your session and you are aware of the contagious nature of COVID-19.
Thank you for agreeing to this condition and for helping us to keep everyone safe during this difficult time.

Food for thought - maybe it's not plantar faciitis after all...

https://vimeo.com/208528168 Tarsal tunnel syndrome (TTS) or posterior tibial neuralgia is often mis-assessed as plantar fasciitis as pain in either case

So many people want us to address their tight IT band. Typically I would use a SMRT move and focus on the gluteal muscles and TFL SMRT is spontaneous muscle release technique- a form of positional release taught by Dawn Lewis. Magic 😊
