The FDA just updated the safety labels on hormone therapy. This is a big deal for women in menopause.๐ธ
In February 2026, the FDA approved label changes to six menopausal hormone therapy products. The most significant change... warnings about cardiovascular disease, breast cancer, and probable dementia were removed from the boxed warning section... the most prominent safety label on a drug.
This followed a comprehensive review of the scientific literature that began in November 2025.
Why does this matter to you?
For years, women avoided or delayed hormone therapy because of those warnings... many of which were based on older data from a study population that did not reflect the typical woman seeking menopause treatment.
The updated labels are meant to help women and their providers have more accurate, better-informed conversations about treatment options for hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and bone loss.
This does not mean hormone therapy is right for everyone. Contraindications still exist and your full medical history matters.
But if you stepped away from this conversation because of fear... it may be time to revisit it.
We are happy to talk through what this means for you specifically.
