A different kind of love story. ❤️✨

Today is Valentine’s Day, but it’s also National Donor Day. While we celebrate the people we love, let’s also honor those who have given the ultimate gift—the gift of life.

Most people think only of the heart, but donation encompasses so much more: intestines, kidneys, liver, lungs, pancreas, uterus.

Life-changing tissue: bones, corneas, eyes, heart valves, ligaments, skin, tendons, veins.

One organ donor can save up to 8 lives, and a tissue donor can heal more than 75 people. Whether it’s organ, blood, or marrow donation, these selfless acts provide a second chance to those waiting for a miracle.

How you can share the love today:

✅ Check the box on your license to become a donor.

✅ Schedule a blood donation (it only takes an hour!).

✅ Share your decision with your family so they know your wishes.

This year, give a gift that truly lasts a lifetime. 🎁🩹

Small hearts, big courage. ❤️💪

It’s Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) Awareness Week (Feb 7–14). Every year, nearly 1 in 100 babies is born with a heart defect. These "Heart Warriors" and their families face surgeries, hospital stays, and uncertainties with incredible strength.

Today, we wear our support on our sleeves to:
✨ Honor the survivors and the angels we’ve lost.
✨ Support the families navigating the CHD journey.
✨ Advocate for more research and funding for lifelong care.

Let’s spread awareness for the most common birth defect. You are not alone in this fight! 🏹❤️

Today is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD), a day to pause, reflect, and take action.

While we’ve made incredible strides in treatment and prevention, the impact of HIV continues to fall disproportionately on Black communities due to systemic barriers, stigma, and unequal access to healthcare. Today is about changing that narrative.

Here is how we can show up for one another:

🔹Get Tested: Knowledge is power. Knowing your status is the first step in taking control of your health.

🔹Stay in Care: With proper treatment, you can live a long, healthy life and prevent passing the virus to partners.

🔹Break the Stigma: Compassion costs nothing. Let’s create a community where everyone feels safe seeking care without judgment.

Together, we can stop the spread and support those living with HIV. Let’s lead with love, education, and action. 🖤💪🏾

Today is World Cancer Day. 🎗️

One in two people will face a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime. Today, we unite to support survivors, remember those we've lost, and push for a future where cancer is no longer a life-threatening disease.

💪 What can you do today? Let’s spread hope and awareness.

🎗️Share your story to inspire others.
🎗️Check in on a friend or family member currently in the fight.
🎗️Schedule that screening you’ve been putting off.

Together, we are more powerful than cancer.

One donation can save up to three lives! ❤️

January is National Blood Donor Month, and the need is especially high right now. Winter weather and seasonal illnesses often cause a dip in blood supplies, making it a critical time for our neighbors in SW Ohio.

At Small Town, we’re dedicated to supporting the health of our community—whether it’s through home health, adult day services, or encouraging a life-saving donation.

Did you donated this month? Tell us where to find a local drive in the comments! 👇

The "Small" Gland with a Big Impact 🦋

January is Thyroid Awareness Month. Did you know the thyroid affects almost every function in the body? Because its symptoms—like fatigue, joint pain, or mood changes—are so subtle, they are often overlooked or mistaken for other conditions.

We are hiring:
☀️ PT, OT, & OTA: Serving SW Ohio (Adams, Brown, Clermont, and Hamilton counties).
☀️ PRN Social Worker: Small Town Adult Day Services (New Richmond).

Don't let a hospital limit your care options. 🛑⚖️

Did you see our feature in today’s Senior Living insert? We’re pulling back the curtain on the “Steering Trap”—a practice where hospitals might push you toward their own home health agencies without showing you the full list of local options.

You have a legal right to choose the provider that’s best for you. Check out our "Discharge Rights Checklist" in the Senior Living edition of today's Clermont Sun, Ledger Independent, News Democrat, or Ripley Bee to ensure your preferences are documented and respected.

A 15-minute appointment could save your life. 🗓️✨🛡️

January is Cervical Health Awareness Month. Cervical cancer often has no symptoms in its early stages, which is why regular screenings are so important.

Did you also know that cervical cancer is one of the most preventable types of cancer? Between the HPV vaccine and regular screenings (like Pap and HPV tests), we have the tools to nearly eliminate it.

Take charge of your health this month:

✅ Schedule your screening: If you’re due, don’t wait!

✅ Talk to your doctor: Ask about the HPV vaccine.

✅ Spread the word: Remind the women and people with a cervix in your life that a quick checkup can be life-saving.

Let’s make 2026 the year we prioritize our wellness. 🌸
