FUN FACT FRIDAY!

After last week's beautiful northern lights did anyone else wonder why our cameras do a much better job seeing those beautiful colors?

1. Modern phones use long exposure times and can detect all colors regardless if it is day or night- phones have much better light sensitivity than our eyes.
2. At night time our rods take over for those low light conditions. BUT those rods only detect gray scale- so at night the eye has a much harder time detecting color.

Unfortunately, with rising prices on running credit cards, starting January 1, 2026 I will be implementing a service fee on all credit card transactions. FUN FACT FRIDAY!
Polar bears can see as far as humans can. So, if you are able to see a polar bear, then they can definitely see you too! Plus, as added protection against damaging UV light Polar Bears have a third eyelid called a nictitating membrane that act almost like snow goggles!

There are many causes of blindness, including refractive error, cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. The World Health Organization estimates that about 80% of all cases of blindness are preventable. This means that with proper screenings and treatment, we can significantly reduce the number of blind or visually impaired people.
