Today is World Dense Breast Day, a time to raise awareness about the critical role breast density plays in breast health.

- Nearly 50% of women over 40 have dense breast tissue
- Dense tissue can hide signs of cancer on a mammogram, since both appear white on the image
- Breast density is only visible through imaging, not something you can feel or notice
- All mammogram reports now include breast density, helping women better understand their individual risk
