Meditation is like exercise for your mental/emotional health. The tricky thing is that it's hard to notice the benefits while you are doing it. I have often felt like "meh, sure I'll meditate but I still sometimes feel grumpy, irritable, and at times down right angry"

However, what I have noticed in the past few months when I haven't meditated is that OH, I feel even more off balance when I don't take the time to meditate.

So there is value in setting aside time and meditating even if it doesn't SEEM like it's doing anything.

What does my meditation usually consist of?

- Sitting
- Breathing.
- Noticing that I have stopped paying attention to my breath.
- Trying to focus on breathing again.
- Wondering what to eat later
- Breathing again

DING. Timer goes off, and I move on.

It's so simple.

I am lucky to have access to nature near me. It gives me strength, it rejuvenates me. It's so simple yet I also forget about it just as easily when I am caught up in the digital grind. I make excuses and say that I am too busy, I don't have time in my schedule. Well, maybe if I stopped mindless scrolling I might be able to make the time.

This is just me ranting to say, I enjoy nature and maybe you do too.

Teaching yoga 10+ years now I see a lot of moving bodies. Mindful movement can be an incredible effective way in keeping ourselves healthy and maintaining our range of motion.

However, I have also seen many students who come in, have upper back, lower back, shoulder, wrist, hip pain and feel better after class but week after week mentioning the same condition.

I thought there has to be a better way.

I am grateful for the opportunity to teach but I am even more appreciative of how much I can help people in pain, with injuries, physical and emotional trauma with the magic of acupuncture.

When my patients notice the effects and see it working it is so exciting to me. It lights me up.

He is definitely feeling the post massage bliss.

One of the ways I try to take care of myself are by using these rubber balls to massage my back and neck. The connective tissue in our body can sometimes get stuck and rigid so it helps to go in there and roll it out. It's also helpful since anyone can do it at home.

Self care is super important and can look differently to different people but I would say that the it is necessary to schedule it into our lives.

I'm amazed every time I get to help someone. Each person responds a little differently to the acupuncture treatments but when it works and the patient feels better, well, that's what keeps me going.
