Rethinking squats after 50? Grab a Chair and Try Again.

When done right, they’re one of the best ways to stay strong, protect your joints, and maintain independence.

Many make the mistake of leaning forward or squatting too deep, which strains the knees. Chair squats are safer: sit back, keep your chest upright, and knees over toes. Full depth isn’t necessary to build strength.

Add light weights gradually and keep your motion controlled. This helps preserve balance and mobility.

Listen to your body and adjust if you feel pain. Learn more: https://bit.ly/411C8kn

At United Hebrew, drawing is more than a pastime. For residents with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia, it’s a way to stimulate the brain, express emotions, maintain fine motor skills, and connect with others. Creative activities like this support cognitive health and emotional well-being, helping each resident thrive in a safe, welcoming community.

Our Willow Gardens Memory Care provides specialized care tailored to each individual, with 24/7 nursing support and a focus on safety, familiarity, and compassionate guidance. Families can feel confident knowing their loved one is supported every day.

At United Hebrew, our early Baby Boomer residents are turning 80 this year and many cast their first vote for Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964.

Since then, they’ve witnessed decades of change, growth, and progress, and their voices have helped shape the world we know today.

This Presidents Day, we honor their first vote, their 80 incredible years, and the legacy they continue to build every day. ❤️🤍💙

After hospitalization from a cardiac event, many seniors need time and therapy to regain their strength and mobility. Fatigue, weakness, balance concerns, and anxiety are common, especially in the first few weeks at home. That’s why short-term rehabilitation is often an important part of recovery, helping seniors build back strength, confidence, and independence safely.
