One of the biggest questions we get here at the clinic is "What should I feed my pet?" Luckily, most pet foods are great and we can usually recommend anything that is convenient for you and your pet!

Unfortunately, the one food that you should NOT feed your animal is GRAIN FREE. This food is the most hypocritical food ever made! The common idea is that grain free should be healthy, but the problem comes with the ingredients they replace!

The ingredients to watch out for in these foods are Peas, Lentils, other legume seeds and Potatoes in the first 10 ingredients! There are many studies and our personal experiences that show chronic heart failure caused by GRAIN FREE FOOD!

We have had many cases of animals who show up and are diagnosed with cardiomyopathy or chronic heart failure. And most owners will inform us that they have been feeding a GRAIN FREE diet!

If any of our clients who have been through this are comfortable with it, we would love to share your stories and spread the word! We need to get this information out there because almost nobody knows!

Help us stop the misinformation about GRAIN FREE pet foods!

Attached are x-ray images of a normal sized canine heart and an x-ray of a canine with an enlarged heart caused by cardiomyopathy.

Hi there friends! We are having a phone technician come out this afternoon, so there may be some intermittent periods that our phones are not ringing in. FEAR NOT! You can still reach us via email if you aren't getting through to us. speedbump@tds.net Have a great day!

UPDATED: Indiana spay neuter transport dates and locations for April 2026. Please note that some of our transport locations have changed locations/times. We have also added new transport locations to our calendar! To schedule your cat or dog for a surgery, please call our transport line at 317-675-0072 and leave a message. You can also visit our website at www.lowcostspayneuterindiana.org to complete an online submission form to start the appointment process. When you go to our website, you have to choose the transport button and "schedule transportation;" otherwise, you will be directed to choose between our Brownsburg or Noblesville clinics.
We do not transport for vaccines only; however, vaccinations can be done at the same time as a spay, neuter, or dental. We do not require an appointment for feral cats; therefore, you can bring up to 2 feral cats per day per person. Please keep in mind that for some transports we are booking out several months. Follow our page and website to stay updated on new and upcoming transports! We look forward to caring for your pets!

We caught this female kitty in a live trap here at the clinic. She has been roaming the area for at least the past week. We are assuming her to be unspayed as she doesn't have a scar, tattoo or a cropped ear. No microchip found, no collar either. She is mostly white with brown/gray tabby markings on her head and tail.

If anyone recognizes her please let us know, we would love to get her back to her home if she has one! She is super sweet!

We are planning to keep her until we have time to spay and vaccinate her hopefully in the next week or so.

Why Spaying & Neutering Your Cats Matters

Spaying and neutering male and female cats comes with lifelong benefits—for your cat and your community.

For Female Cats:
• Eliminates the risk of uterine infections
• Significantly reduces the risk of mammary cancer
• Prevents heat cycles, which can be stressful and uncomfortable

For Male Cats:
• Reduces roaming and the urge to fight
• Decreases spraying and strong odor marking
• Lowers the risk of certain health issues

For All Cats:
• Helps prevent unwanted litters
• Reduces stress-related behaviors
• Supports a longer, healthier life

Spaying and neutering is a safe, routine procedure that plays a major role in reducing pet overpopulation and keeping cats healthy. If you have questions or are ready to schedule, we’re here to help every step of the way.
