After years of working on bodies every single day, I can honestly tell you…

most pain I see isn’t from injuries.
It’s from habits we repeat all day long without realizing it.

Here are the 3 biggest ones I see in almost everyone 👇
1️⃣ Phone posture
Looking down at your phone puts a surprising amount of strain on your neck. Your head is heavy — and when it leans forward your muscles end up holding way more weight than they were designed for.

2️⃣ “Desk shoulders”
Typing with shoulders slightly lifted and rounded forward keeps your upper traps contracted constantly. This is why they feel hard and tight even when you think you’ve been resting.

3️⃣ Tight chest muscles
This one surprises people the most. When the chest tightens, it actually pulls the shoulders forward and forces the neck to overwork… which often turns into headaches at the base of the skull.
A lot of neck pain actually starts in the front of the body, not the back.

Carpal tunnel doesn’t usually start in the wrist.

Most of the time I see it actually begin higher up the chain — neck, shoulders, pecs, arms and forearms — and the wrist is just where your body finally starts complaining.

If you’re dealing with numbness, tingling, or hand fatigue, here are the first 3 things I want you to start doing:
1️⃣ Stretch everything — not just the wrist. Open the chest, and stretch your neck, shoulders, forearms, and hands.
2️⃣ Self-massage those same areas to decrease the constant pull on the wrist.
3️⃣ Tell your massage therapist what you’re experiencing so we can target the areas feeding into it and help keep it from coming right back.

With regular, consistent massages we can get this under control!

You don’t have to accept it becoming your “normal.” The earlier you address it, the more consistentin your treatment you are, the easier it is to calm down.

I get asked a lot what people should be doing at home in between massages.
It's not fun to walk out feeling amazing… and then tighten right back up a few days later 😅

One of the biggest patterns I see is forward head posture and tension that starts at the base of the skull and creeps into the neck and shoulders (and yep — often headaches too).

Something like this cervical neck stretcher can be helpful for gently letting those muscles relax and taking pressure off the neck — when it’s used gently and not cranked on. It’s not about forcing a stretch, it’s about allowing the neck to decompress and calm down.

I’m thinking about sharing more simple at-home care tips because honestly what you do between appointments matters just as much as the massage itself.

Bonus - when you combine home care with massage; results are even better!

If your neck and shoulders have been constantly tight, your body may just need a reset and a plan — we can absolutely work on that together.

Real life moment…
An old injury decided to remind me it still exists this week 🙃

One of the hard parts about doing work I love is that it’s also very physical work. I use my body all day long to take care of yours, and sometimes it tells me I need to slow down and listen for a minute.

So I’m taking this 3-day weekend (and my daughter being home from school Monday) as a sign to actually rest. I’ll be keeping it braced, letting it calm down, and I’m going all-in on my physical therapy exercises so I can come back at 100% for you all next week.

I never want to give you anything less than my best — you deserve full focus, strength, and care when you’re on my table.

And please- don't worry! This injury has acted up before. I usually get back in shape quick with my tried & true regimen!

Thank you for always being so understanding and supportive of a small, human-run business. I’ll be using this time to heal up and be top-notch again very soon 💚
