Q: Why do I need my eyes dilated?
A: Dilation allows your eye doctor to see deep inside your eye, including the retina and optic nerve. This can help detect and diagnose serious eye diseases early—often before you notice any symptoms.

Myth: “Wearing glasses or contacts makes your eyes weaker.”

Busted: Corrective lenses do not change the physical structure of your eye or make eyes “dependent” on them. You may feel your vision is worse without them simply because you have gotten used to seeing clearly.

Last Wednesday, I saw 3 emergency patients at Beach Vision struggling with 3 of these 4 problems… We take good care of our teeth and get replacements if needed, sometimes an upgrade, but eyes are priceless, one pair is all you get! Protect them and get an eye exam in person with a doctor.

For starters: They can get sunburned.
