Thank you to Joshua Hoffmann, NP, for leading the first session of this year’s New Ulm High School medical careers class on January 22.

Joshua, along with additional NUMC providers, will present to students each week to support learning and encourage interest in careers in health care.

On January 9, representatives from the New Ulm and Springfield Runnings stores presented our Oncology team with a $2,500 donation—the highest amount contributed in the past 15 years.

The funds were raised during their annual Ladies’ Night event in October, held in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. The AHCI New Ulm team joined the event by sharing cancer screening information and distributing 5‑gallon buckets to shoppers.

All proceeds benefit the Allina Health Foundation New Ulm – Cancer Care Fund, supporting local cancer care initiatives.

Eight New Ulm Public High School students have recently completed their fall‑semester internship, rotating through departments at New Ulm Medical Center. They each shared their experiences, and all expressed interest in pursuing a future career in health care!

New Ulm Medical Center has a rich history spanning more than 140 years.

Thank you to Dr. Daniel Groebner, who served as an important historical resource, and to Kayla Goblirsch, our summer administrative intern, for coordinating the historical photos for Café Loretto. The photos are now up and look great.

Members of the Tea for Cancer Foundation stopped by to drop off cards filled with inspirational messages and grant information that will be shared with oncology patients during their first consult.

Since August 2022, the foundation has awarded $100,000 in monetary grants to local cancer patients — including many of our own patients in need.
