We’re excited to introduce Alyssa Lewandowski, a third-year occupational therapy student who will be joining Little Stars to complete her doctoral capstone project at the end of January ✨Alyssa grew up in Wappingers Falls and is completing the final steps of her degree close to home under the mentorship of Isabella Saffioti-Shea, owner and occupational therapist of Little Stars. Isabella is also a graduate of Western New England University’s Doctor of Occupational Therapy program. In collaboration with Little Stars, she will be leading her Doctoral Experiential (DEx) capstone project, “Holding on Tight: Exploring Occupational Therapy Strategies for Perinatal Musculoskeletal Conditions.” This project is a telehealth perinatal ergonomics education program designed to support new mothers in preventing musculoskeletal conditions that may impact caregiving, while also contributing to research on the role of occupational therapy in women’s and maternal health 🤍. Over the next 14 weeks, Alyssa may also be involved in additional projects throughout the practice. We’re thrilled to have her as part of the Little Stars community and look forward to seeing her work come to life!
