March brings two powerful transitions.
On Sunday, March 8, we set our clocks ahead for Daylight Saving Time.
On Friday, March 20, we welcome the Spring Equinox, when light and dark come into balance.
Both shifts affect more than our schedules. They influence our sleep, mood, energy, and nervous system.
Even a one hour time change can disrupt circadian rhythm. You might notice feeling slightly off, more tired, more reactive, or having trouble falling asleep. That is not weakness. It is physiology adjusting to new light cues.
And then comes the equinox. Equal light. Equal dark. A reminder that balance is not about doing more. It is about honoring transition.
Winter has asked us to conserve.
Spring invites gradual reemergence.
Not urgency.
Not forced growth.
Just gentle expansion.
If your body feels slower than the calendar suggests it should, that is okay. The nervous system adapts best when we move with it, not against it.
Try this simple grounding pause this week:
Stand with both feet on the floor.
Let your knees soften.
Feel your weight drop into your heels.
Take one slow exhale longer than your inhale.
Look around and name three neutral things you see.
Nothing to fix. Just noticing.
This spring, I am offering:
• Seasonal nature based therapy beginning mid April
• Private pay telehealth somatic therapy
• Gentle yoga at the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center
You do not have to wait until things feel overwhelming to seek support. Just like tending the earth in spring, tending your nervous system early creates steadier growth.
If you are feeling the shift and would like compassionate, body centered support, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
With care,
