What should you do when you try a parenting hack and it doesn’t work?

Honestly, that’s likely to happen because life is real and not every tip of trick works for all of us…

But when you’re about to lose your cool, the best thing to do is to pick yourself up and walk out to try and regain control.

So how should you do this? Listen to this quick hack in the video to recenter yourself when your parenting skills go offline.❤️

What should you do to stop yelling at your kids?

When you are calmer, your kids are more likely to listen. BUT we’re not always calm as parents so what can we do???

from my Playful Parneting course. It’s a favorite with moms cuz it works and is an immediate RESET 👍

PBS pause, breathe and smile ❤️ quite literally, it takes 10 seconds to do and perspective comes back so you realize you don’t have to yell anymore.

Try it and let me know how it goes!

Do moms have a right to ?

Why do we always put ourselves last on the list?

Here’s what you need to know- if you take care of yourself as in eating normally, sleeping minimum of 7 hours if possible and not over working at the expense of your time with your kids, you will have an easier time raising your kids.

And sometimes, even the therapist in me forgets the lesson for myself :(

So I’m speaking to myself as much as I’m speaking to you ❤️

What happens when your child is struggling with suicidal ideation, out of control behavior, eating concerns, dissociative episodes and complex PTSD and you feel you have no where to turn?

Not every therapist is trained in crisis intervention and working with an intensive model framework.

While most child and teenage clients do fine with once or twice a week therapy, some situations call for intensive therapeutic support daily to help child and family through a crisis.

Whether it’s doing intensive therapy to help heal the trauma or crisis intervention and stabilization, I am glad I can offer this option to my clients.

It’s another day, another week and I’m proud that I go the extra mile to help my clients.

Why read to your kids?

It’s one of the best ways to help your child gain literacy skills and a good advantage when it comes to learning 👍

And it’s also all about connecting with your kids ❤️🌺💃🏻

Kids typically get obsessed with a series of books and ask parents to read those books over and over again… and that’s the joy of childhood!

What’s something you can do in 2-5 minutes to connect to your kids?

So many moms think that they need a lot of time to connect to their kids or else and it’s either all or nothing…

This is NOT true.

Kids thrive on connection. While spending lots of time with your kids is nice, 2-5 minutes of love and connection is priceless!!!

Over 350 moms have taken my Playful Parenting course which is built around the 2-5 minute method of connecting to your kids.

Many moms reported that this concept changed their families lives for the better!

And that’s because we spend time with them anyway so why not connect?

Want to improve your child’s mental health?

There’s one thing you can do to improve their mental health- get them off their screens!

There’s definitely research showing how kids do better without screens. AND, if you’re asking me, I will tell you how much better kids do emotionally and behaviorally when they aren’t glued to their screens 💪

You can do it! Don’t be afraid to take away their screens. Your children deserve happy, healthy lives. There will be more than enough time to have screens later in life.

Did you ever want to get parenting support or therapy and just feel like you didn’t have the time to drive to the expert you wanted to work with?

Zoom to the rescue! No matter where you are, you can now access therapy!

As a child and family therapist for 25 years, I will always like meeting children and families in person. Yet, I have learned that Zoom works well for parenting, family therapy and trauma therapy as well if there’s no other option.

Distance or lack of time should not get in the way of getting help. As a parent, you deserve to get support for yourself and your family ❤️🌺❤️

Want to know how to play with your kids and not be stuck on the floor all afternoon?

There is a simple way to give your kids playful connection where your kids will feel the love even if you don’t have hours to play with them.

My Playful Parenting program is built on the foundation of things you can do 2-5 minutes throughout the day to connect with your kids.

Play doesn’t have to take forever. You can learn how to engage with your kids and give them the love and connection they want and need 👍

Who doesn’t like a good parenting hack?

Do you have 10 seconds?

Eye contact is critical to connecting with your kids. And it doesn’t require anything other than 10 seconds or less.

Smiling doesn’t take more than half a second. And it’s easy to do!

Making parenting FUN again usi neg this 10second hack ❤️
