Dress warmly with a few layers when temperatures start to drop!!! Frigid winds, colder air and snow when you go outside – your feet also need protection from the cold weather conditions.
In severe cases, overexposure to harsh temperatures can lead to frostbite and hypothermia.
Indoor heat that is too dry can lead to bleeding and cracked skin.
Dry feet can make matters worse. For instance, cracks can easily become infected if not taken care, which can be a big health concern for diabetics. Moisturize your feet daily with lotion or creams (like coconut oil). The best time to apply lotion is after a bath or shower.
