Good morning! 🌄 It's Friday. I re-release this episode in honor of a magnificent film I had the privilege of screening last year. It was directed and written by Tyler Perry, produced by Nicole Avant and stars Kerry Washington and a superb caste, including Oprah Winfrey as Mary Mc Leod Bethune, who my Davis and Joseph ancestral heritage have family ties with. It is entitled "The Six Triple Eight." It was on Netflix and you probably still find it there!👏

is my guest's mother, Bertie Marie Edwards, whom she talks about in this episode was a 1st Lieutenant in the 6888 Negro battalion of the US Army WAC that the above mentioned film was about. It is definitely a must-see film, Oscar worthy, in my opinion!

My guest, Audrey Edwards, wrote a book entitled "American Runaway " about her experience leaving Brooklyn NY to move to Paris because Donald Trump was being inaugurated POTUS on 1/20/17. It is a fascinating, informative yet funny interview, especially her talking about her mom!😂 It is a must view!!!

He shares his wonderful journey of experiences from growing up in Brooklyn New York to being a Rap star at 18 with a group called Rappin is Fundamental, which fused Hip Hop with Jazz...his vision. His partner, Producer Easy Moe Bee and AB, were responsible for, produced, and performed on Miles Davis's last album Grammy winning Doo Bop. It's an informative journey into the Hip Hop world... a funny episode not to be missed!🤗♥️

My guests on this episode are NY/NJ Port Authority manager and jazz vocalist Steve Comity; and NYC Board of Education Administrator/Educator and Jazz drummer, pianist, percussionist and singer Eric Frazier.

Mr. Cromity poignantly relates his harrowing journey from the 73rd floor of the NY World Trade Center to safety after hearing the planes crash into the buildings on 9/11/2001. He did not realize the life-threatening danger he was in while descending those steps. It is a truly gut-wrenching, powerful experience to have in ones life... and he shares it with you!!!😲

Mr Fraizer talks about his experiences being a principal in the NY Board of Education school system. He was a remarkably focused educator who made a difference with his students and staff.

Both gentlemen got deeply entrenched in the New York jazz scene upon their retirement from their respective careers. It's a wonderful story about changing the downward trajectory of your life course, perseverance, and setting goals while being true to yourself. Enjoy!👏

THE SHOW ABOUT STUFF! THE STEPHEN DAVIS SHOW

This historically wonderful episode features three members of the generation that came of age in the 50s and 60s. They are a shining example of this show's mantra... PROGRESS DESPITE OBSTACLES. They deliver a powerful message to this generation of what life was like for them growing, the obstacles they faced as they reached the pinnacles of success in their lives.

Walter Beach was a member of AFL and the NFL. He was the starting cornerback on the 1964 World Champion Cleveland Brown with Jim Brown. But most importantly, he became a Yale trained lawyer after football.

Dr. Richard Allen Williams is a Harvard trained world known cardiologist who founded the Association of Black Cardiologists. But, he is a professional jazz trumpeter, mentored by both Clifford Brown and Miles Davis. Wait until he tells you of some of the places and with whom he performed all the while still being a practicing cardiologist.

Bobby Hunter is a Stanford University train sociologist who was a member of the world famous Harlem Globetrotters from 1966- 1974.

Their advice based on their education, life experiences, and observations should be received with open arms. It is truly a marvelous episode. Don't miss viewing it!🤗
