An incredible 3000+ gifts were sent by over 1000 donors to Tampa General Hospital to support the children and families of the NICU. This community is unbelievable and I am always so impressed by the generosity of your hearts! ❤️

We are so honored to be included amongst all the other Tampa Bay community members recognized for our work during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rustic Steel has organized a ceremony to highlight all the work done by all of us and will be streaming it this afternoon at 4pm via their Facebook site. Please tune in!

The COVID-19 pandemic has accounted for tens of thousands of deaths and may ultimately affect millions more. There will be time to mourn the victims and care for the survivors, but it is also time to recognize and thank some of the heroes who have emerged so far.

In having everyone’s safety in mind, a large event gathering will not be possible in the foreseeable future for the Award Ceremony. Therefore, Mayor Jane Castor will be announcing the nineteen award recipients in the Virtual LIVE Award Ceremony next Tuesday, July 21st, at 4:00pm EST. Stay tuned for details about the event!!

While this feels like forever to us dealing with adjustments to our society, it is nothing compared to our children in the hospital or NICU families managing birth traumas. This is not an easy time for anyone but it is a time to support each other. A time to make a small contribution to change the direction of things. A time to make positive change thru small acts of kindness.

Help us keep the gifting going! On July 1st we asked for your help collecting gifts for the brave little warriors in our Children's Medical Center as part of our 'Christmas In July' event. Due to COVID-19 our toy closet was uncharacteristically empty. You stepped up! We've received an INCREDIBLE 2,959 donations from individuals and organizations throughout our community, including a $2,500 cash donation from Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Tampa. But we're not done yet! We're still collecting gifts for our NICU and Healthpark Pediatric Clinic patients. Please make a donation or SHARE this post so we can reach as many people as possible. Thank you to each and everyone of you who continue to support our cause and have helped recognize our work within the community.

The Tampa General Hospital Foundation continues to seek assistance during this time to help support our essential healthcare workers who may be struggling with COVID related financial issues. Our restaurant partners are also continuing to work hard to keep their businesses open. Dear Tampa Neighbors,

Beaches are open. Restaurants are open. Salons are open. It feels great to see everyone enjoying life in a safe capacity around town.

The impact of this time will remain for some as businesses, both essential and non-essential, work to adjust. Volumes will take time to return so finances have to change along with that.

During this time, our hardworking Tampa General staff worked tirelessly for us. That doesn’t mean they are still not vulnerable to financial impact. Not everyone at the hospital is a high paid specialized individual. It takes thousands of people to make TGH one of the premier national medical facilities and some of those people are facing unforeseen financial turmoil.

To help, we are kindly asking for a small financial contribution to support to the Tampa General Hospital Foundation COVID19 fund. Whether it is a security guard, environmental services & cleaning staff, lab personnel, young resident physicians recently graduating from medical school, nurses or doctors - the fall out of this will affect us all. Our community is still in need of help. Whether it’s packing up food for those facing challenges with Feeding Tampa Bay supporting our local businesses via Rising Tide Tampa Bay or giving financial aid to our TGH staff facing hardship as a result of COVID19 via the Tampa General Hospital Foundation, we can find a way to give. While things are improving, its time to put out a helping hand to ensure all our neighbors are ok ❤️
