What can lifestyle medicine offer to people with cancer? Can it reverse the disease, or stave off recurrence? On May 10th, I'll be speaking with Dr. ElizabethO'Donnell, Director of Lifestyle Medicine at Mass General Hosp. about lifestyle medicine as a strategy to improve cancer outcomes.

You can register for the event here https:tinyurl.com/lifestylemed hosted virtually by Harvard Alumni in Healthcare . CCLM Invites you to our Free Monthly Zoom Series: "It's Your Health"
When: Tuesday, April 20th from 8-9pm. EST

Come join us for a deep dive into a recent cancer study to learn what it can mean for your cancer diagnosis.

This month we discuss new research on the importance of Vitamin D as it relates to both cancer progression and staving off cancer recurrence.

What do we know about the mechanism by which Vitamin D acts to deter cancer cell growth? What is the ideal daily intake for a person? What is the difference between Vitamin D2 and Vitamin D3? Why have cancer researchers been studying a possible connection between vitamin D and cancer risk - for years?

Let's discuss how you might include Vitamin D in your cancer lifestyle management regimen. It's one of the easiest and most cost effective ways to work toward reducing cancer risk.

Please join us for answers to all these questions and more. Come be around like-minded people interested in learning about cancer lifestyle management to support better cancer outcomes.

Cancer and Stress: How To Know "objectively" if Stress Level is Out of Control.

Most people are aware that “too much” stress is a significant risk factor in the progression of many physical illnesses including cancer. What is far less clear is how to determine whether one's stress level is within acceptable limits or not. Whether the guided meditation, yoga, or deep breathing that you’ve committed to regularly doing is enough to offset the wear and tear of your everyday life? Though the problem of stress is commonly written about in relation to cancer, the issue of its measurement is rarely addressed.

Today we open February registration for our cancer lifestyle management programs. We help patients develop research-driven, anti-cancer regimens based on individual biology and diagnosis.

Programs span the realms of six specific areas– emotional wellbeing, social connection, the body’s stress-response system, nutritional intake, physical activity, and positive cognitions. The objective is to help patients attain a more efficient immune system, reduce inflammation, reduce stress, and to facilitate better intestinal absorption of whole food nutrients.

Whether struggling with active disease or concerned about staving off recurrence, we aim to make our patient's medical treatment more effective. Learn more about our programs at https://www.cancerlifestylemgmt.com.
