Join in SoHo on Saturday, January 10 from 2—5pm for The Sacred is Not Rare, It’s Undercover: Relational + Communal

As we look toward the closure of our SoHo studio on January 31, this will be Nikki Costello’s final class in our Manhattan space. Don’t miss it ☺️

This workshop explores the sacred as something that arises between us. Through asana, breathwork, and dialogic practice, participants sense how attunement, co-regulation, and relational care shape our experience. We study how community and shared presence can transform the everyday into a meaningful field of practice, revealing the sacred as a lived, collective inquiry.

Join us in WB this weekend for a Winter Solstice Sound Bath: Sunday, December 21 from 6—7.30pm with 🌑✨🌒✨🌑

We’ve made it through the darkness, both literally and figuratively. The sun returns as days slowly grow longer. The deep reflection the darkness inspires has brought us much wisdom, and we prepare to come out of hibernation and share our newly gained wisdom with others. We have been through challenging times individually and collectively. The world is seeing what may possibly be the darkest of times. Can we collectively envision the light that must come after the dark?

From time immemorial humans have gathered together to celebrate the Winter Solstice. Join One Nation Sound on Sunday December 21st for a deeply transformative experience with healing sounds and Sacred Activations to help us welcome the light back into our lives and back into the world. As we shine our light, we enlighten the world. There is no other way.

LET’S GET IT DONE!
Final module is this weekend!

Module 3: Putting it Together & The Standing Work (December 13—14)

Upright movement is explored from the ground up in this module. We will review, relate, and integrate the material from Modules 1 and 2 with triplanar exercises challenging balance, lower body strength, and various speeds in motion. Expect a review of the mechanics of the hips, legs and feet and how to work with our weight and proprioception to fortify connection to the ground, self, and others.

Take a Load Off: Unburden the Shoulders and Care for the Heart

Join Magi for this two hour workshop where we will rein in the mind, settle the energy, and tend to the spirit. Think old school kula flow with the sweet dessert of restoration and a long savasana. The physical practice will focus on shoulder work: we will release the shoulder and chest from every angle and strengthen the necessary muscle groups to support good posture. Then we’ll land in a nurturing sequence with space for contemplation and deep rest. Come exactly as you are—all are welcome.

Over the last nearly two decades of teaching, Magi Pierce has been fascinated by the intersections of anatomy and psychology. Precise movement is her prayer practice and these in-sightful teachings facilitate other practitioner’s self-study with a way that is equal parts meticulous and kind.

Magi taught weekly at Kula for years and has been a part of many of the teacher trainings and mentorship programs—she continues to visit for workshops and is on the faculty of the 200 hour program. She now lives over the river (a quaint way of saying “in Jersey”) with her wife and their 2 daughters.

In case you missed it, the Groundcontrol Immersion is back THIS WEEKEND! You are more than welcome to drop in to this weekend even if you weren’t able to attend Module 1 (or won’t attend Module 3).

We’re tackling the mid level zone this time!

Module 2: Midlevel Zone & The Plank Work (December 6—7)

In this module we build on the foundation of core support and triplanar movement enriched by The Groundwork in Module 1. We will explore the plank in all shapes and sizes, the love/hate relationship with Push Ups, and ways to adjust according to one’s unique level of strength and physical proportions in these sequences. Expect plenty of upper body loading and conditioning in this weekend.

What does it mean to go deep? At Kula, it means venturing into the substrata in order to take a closer look at the foundation upon which we build our community and our classes. You may scratch the surface of these ideas in group classes, but not in a structured, formal way. So...if you are feeling the call to really dig into the bedrock of yogic studies (even if you don’t necessary feel the pull to teach...) this program is for you!

Expect a thorough kickstart to your 2026. Your favorite Kula teachers will lead you on a journey both physical and philosophical along the eightfold path. Come prepared to Kula Flow once (maybe twice?!) a day, see the human body anew through Lauren Haythe’s unique Applied Anatomy modules, be transformed from the outside in by Nikki Costello’s powerful teaching, and explore all things breath and bandha with Nikki Vilella.

No matter what your New Year’s resolution is—this week will support and nourish you on your journey. This program is open to dedicated students and teachers of all traditions. It’s also the launchpad for our monthlong 200 Hour Teacher Training intensive, so if you’re also on the fence about taking the 200 Hour plunge...never say never...

We are gearing up for MODULE 1 - Getting Grounded and the Ground Work - this weekend! November 22 and 23 at Kula in SoHo. has you covered!

Expect a deep dive into what is asked of our nervous system and physiology when we orient ourselves to our current environments and states in order to prepare for movement. How do we connect? What do we perceive? How do we breathe? Where do we start? These inquiries are the foundation of Groundcontrol. We will explore all the low level exercises and triplanar movement sequences from supine, prone, and side lying positions on the mat.

Autumnal Reset: Yin, Restorative, + Immersive Sonic Experience

Tomorrow Nov 8 from 4—6pm in SoHo

REGISTER IN ADVANCE as we have limited space to ensure everyone has a plethora of props for deep rest!

Lana, Śrī, and are a magical combo!

We are between the autumn equinox and winter solstice—a time of enchantment and potent reflection. This workshop provides an opportunity to sync with nature’s rhythms, indulging in the stillness and quietude of yin and restorative. These practices recalibrate the nervous system and cultivate a sense of deep comfort and well-being in preparation for “wintering.”*

*Wintering is a term coined by Katherine May in her book Wintering: The Power of Rest and Retreat in Difficult Times.

Sonic experience courtesy of Constanza Moyano from Eleven Eleven Hertz.

Constanza Moyano is a certified energy work and sound facilitator, and a designer of experiential, multi-sensory somatic immersions, sonic journeys for body and mind. Originally from Argentina, her practice is influenced by shamanic philosophy and nature-based traditions that honor rhythm, vibration, and the intelligence of the body. Through 1111 Hertz, she weaves breath-work and sound to help recalibrate your energy, release tension, and raise your vibrational frequency, meeting you where you are and guiding you toward your highest, most authentic energetic potential, where joy is met inward.
