From a sleepy newborn to asleep well within days!

Why does this happen with some babies?
The first week or so it’s all about getting used to their new environment.

As long as they are fed and cuddled, they will sleep and be content but this often doesn’t last passed 10 days.

What happens in the first week to 10 days determines your baby’s temperament over the coming weeks.

Here are the reasons why

Many new parents are only given a snippet of advice about their baby’s feeding or sleep requirements.

Feed when your baby is hungry!
Feed frequently for milk supply!
Feeding helps babies fall asleep!

Without knowledge of your baby’s feeding mechanisms, reflexes and quantity of milk you are supplying when breastfeeding, your baby can over feed. This leads to unsettled baby, colic or even reflux.

With a baby being over fed they often lack in sleep. Sleep is very, very important for all babies and moms. Sleep aids in digestion, sleep helps growth and development, and sleep may even prevent colic and reflux.
