14% of Blacks
34% Latinos
Don’t believe the vaccine is safe. Trust is needed, but not expected.
Google Tuskegee airmen in case you want to read up on the black side where it started. Started being the operative word. It’s context today? I couldn’t tell you that. Well I could I suppose, but then I’d have to kill you. With kindness. Zing. But seriously give me your ideas on how we can speak to Black and Latino communities as they are disproportionately affected. What are their fears? How can we assure them? What is it they want to know more of? What don’t they trust exactly? Ask if there’s anyone in the science community they currently trust or would listen to.
The more we know, the better we can talk to the message. No answers are wrong answers except for no answer at all. Silence is also violence in this case. (But don’t go getting all crazy about it, this isn’t a pi***ng contest). What it is however is an amazing talking point to ping amongst your black and Latino friends in as non offensive way as possible. I’m kidding. Just bring it up. “Are you planning to get the vaccine 💉?” Ok. So the emoji of a needle might be too much but that’s pretty much it. Then see what they say and have a dialogue to see where each other stands. Maybe even listen as much as you talk. And let’s see if we can’t get the g**s and Qu**rs on the same page. I’m not worried about us Qu**rs. It’s the g**s I’m very worried about. Principle Duvall , the g**s have gone wild, the g**s have gone wild.
Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
