Why do I always go back to drinking?
If you struggle going back again and again like I did- this episode is for you!!
Episode 112, of the Sober & Lit Podcast.

When I was exploring my drinking in 2019, Even after taking breaks and knowing I felt better, I would always go back. It might be for stress, or a special occasion. I would tell myself “just one” or I just “need this right now now” or “I’m sure I can moderate, now”

This is classic gray area drinking. You can stop, have stopped, but don’t stay stopped, Interestingly, this is also the type of woman I help stay stopped! In my four years of coaching, I would say this is now my specialty. You want to want to stop drinking, but you also don’t want to and keep going back.

I get it! On this week’s podcast episode I unpack what is going on in our brain when we go back to drinking, why we do it, and some insight about how I help women stay stopped.

I’ll be sharing even more insights and resources for staying stopped in this week’s newsletter. If you are not in my community yet, comment newsletter and I’ll send you a link!

The Sober & Lit Podcast 🔥 has been nominated for Best Podcast by Sans Bar (an alcohol-free social space in Austin TX). We are completely blown away and honored.

Fun fact about me, I was a Theater major at UCLA and had an agent and my SAG (Screen Actors Guild) card and small non-speaking parts in a few shows in the late 80’s early 90’s. So of course, I dreamt of one day winning an Academy Award. Now’s my chance!
Who would have figured it would take me having a drinking problem, overcoming it and starting a podcast about it to get there! Life is funny that way.

For my dreams to come true, I need your help!

A new twist on purse wine!
Did you ever bring your own wine to an event that you knew wouldn’t be serving something you liked or to drink (not driving) on the way? Yikes. Me too. Now I’m still bringing my own wine to parties and events but it is AF!

In this episode of the Sober & Lit Podcast Ruby and I share how you can say no by saying YES! With strategies to take care of yourself so you don’t end up caving or white knuckling it.
What you will learn:
✨ Why saying no isn’t about willpower (it’s about wiring + people-pleasing) ✨ How family dynamics and social pressure quietly pull you back in ✨ Simple ways to prepare before events so you don’t panic in the moment ✨ Go-to phrases that feel natural (not awkward or rehearsed) ✨ Why bringing your own alcohol-free drink can be a game changer ✨ How to honor yourself and belong — at the same time

This episode is equal parts heart, honesty, and practical tools you can use tonight.
