EMPOWERING PWD STUDENTS THROUGH EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE

The Iloilo City Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) is dedicated to supporting PWD college students by offering educational assistance of P5,000 per semester. This scholarship is available to PWD students enrolled in any college course at accredited public or private universities in Iloilo City, provided they have not received a failing mark in any subject.

With a capacity to accommodate up to 20 students each semester, PDAO has been a driving force in enabling the education of PWD students. In the first semester of the current year, 18 students were granted educational aid, while 16 were assisted in 2022, and 17 in both 2020 and 2021. In 2019, the program aided 11 students.

This initiative falls under the WHEELS program, emphasizing the significance of education in transforming lives.

For those interested in applying, the following requirements must be submitted: Brgy. Certificate of Indigency, Case Findings, Certificate of Eligibility, Photocopy of PWD ID, School Registrar or Dean Certification, and Copy of Grades from the previous semester.

PDAO carefully evaluates all applications, facilitating the processing of educational assistance for beneficiaries. The final list of recipients will be released prior to the start of the academic year, ensuring efficient distribution.
