1950 میں ہاورڈ یونیورسٹی میں ایک عجیب تجربہ ہوا. انہوں نے کچھ چوہوں کو پانی کے ادھ بھرے جار میں ڈال دیا. چوہوں نے ڈوبنے سے بچنے کیلئے ہاتھ پیر مارنے شروع کردئے. جو چوہا مایوس ہو کر ڈوبنے لگتا یہ اسے باہر نکال دیتے. ان کی اس بقا کی مشقت کا دورانیہ کتنا تھا.؟
یہ ایوریج پندرہ منٹ تھے. اس کے بعد مایوسی نے غلبہ پا کر ان کو ڈوبنے پر راضی کر لیا.لیکن تجربہ یہاں ختم نہیں ہوا. انہوں نے کچھ دیر کا آرام دے کر چوہوں کو دوبارہ جار میں ڈال دیا. چوہوں نے دوبارہ بچنے کی کوشش شروع کردی. کیا آپ کو پتہ ہے. اس بار ان کی اس کوشش کا دورانیہ کیا تھا.؟
یہ 60 گھنٹے کی لگاتار کوشش تھی. پندرہ منٹ کے بعد مایوسی کا شکار ہوجانے والے چوہوں کو جار سے نکال دئے جانے کی اُمید نے اب ان کو ایک طویل دور کی ہمت دی. اُمید وہ مافوق الفطرت طاقت ہے جو ایک عام انسان کو طاقت کی وہ معراج دیتی ہے جس کے آگے منطق دلیل سب ہاتھ جوڑ دیتی ہیں.
تو اُمید کیا ہے.؟ اُمید آپ کے خوبصورت خواب ہیں. ان کو مایوسی کے اندھیروں میں گُم نہ ہونے دیں۔
