🕊️ A 3-Minute Morning Practice to Ease Anxiety

Do you wake up feeling tense, tight or uneasy? Your body may be starting the day in fight-or-flight.

It’s not just anxiety; it’s your nervous system doing what it learned to do — waking up ready to protect you.

A gentle moment of reconnection, to come home to your body before the day takes over can help you feel safe and at peace.

I invite you to try this simple practice to help your nervous system feel safe, nurtured and loved:

🌅 3-Minute Morning Nervous System Reset

1️⃣ Place one hand on your chest, one on your lower belly.
Feel the warmth of your hands. Let your body know you are here.

2️⃣ Inhale slowly for 4 seconds.
Not big. Not forced. Just steady.

3️⃣ Exhale with a soft sigh.
Let the shoulders drop, the jaw loosen, and the body melt.

4️⃣ Repeat for just 4 cycles.
That’s it.
Four slow, soft breaths.

This tiny ritual helps lower morning cortisol, calm the sympathetic nervous system and set a gentler tone for the day. Placing your hand on your chest can even stimulate oxytocin, the ‘bonding hormone’, to help your body feel calmer.

💛 Give it a try

Before you get up. Before your day starts playing in your head.
Take 3 minutes to remind your system:
You are safe to begin again.

Slow down. Breath. Feel. Move... You are already Whole.

Yesterday’s Daybreaker morning began with deep breathwork and flowed effortlessly into dance — a celebration of being fully “at home in the body, safe, empowered, and free”.

At the end, as a community, in unity, we confirmed and reminded ourself and our bodies out loud:
“Rest is not a luxury. It is our birthright. A doorway into deeper knowing. A space where we begin to remember our wholeness, not because we’ve done enough — but because we already are.”
— Octavia Raheem

In my Somatic Emotional Release practice, I often witness how much healing unfolds and flows when safety is created and within the safe container, we give ourselves permission to pause, to feel, to breathe, and to move from the deep wisdom of our body. Your body already knows what it needs. Slow down. Feel. Allow what’s ready to move through you, move.

Rest and movement are not opposites — they’re partners in restoring balance.

Through the body, we come home to ourselves.

💛
May this be your reminder to slow down, go inward, and reconnect with your innate wholeness — not because you’ve earned it, but because it’s already yours.

It was a pleasure to attend the National Aesthetic Spa Network (NASANPRO) conference this weekend in Atlanta! What a beautiful day of learning, inspiration, and connection with so many passionate professionals in the field of holistic beauty and wellness.

I also had the honor of contributing to NASNPRO’s October magazine with my article “The Skin Speaks: Connecting Energy, Emotions, and Health.”

In it, I explore how the skin tells the deeper story of our inner world — reflecting not only our physical health but also our emotions, energy, and even ancestral imprints. When we listen with curiosity and compassion, the skin becomes a wise messenger guiding us toward balance and wholeness.
Deep gratitude to Denise and the NASNPRO team for such a thoughtful event and the opportunity to share this work.

Go slow to go fast.

Slowing down is not a setback; it’s an act of self-care. When we give ourselves space to breathe, reflect, and restore, we create the foundation for ease and flow.

From that grounded place, we allow the next steps to come to us with more clarity and less struggle.

What feels like a pause is often a quiet preparation and invitation for ease and clarity.

Give yourself the gift of slowing down:

Rest.

Breathe.

Be.

Feel.

Allow and relax into whatever comes up to move through you.
You are worth it.
You deserve it.

Peace, Love and Blissings 💛

Last night I had the privilege of hearing former Polish President L**h Wałęsa speak in Atlanta.

As a key figure in the Solidarity movement, he gave voice to millions living under communist rule in Poland—sparking a peaceful revolution that helped dismantle an oppressive system. Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1983, he later became Poland’s first democratically elected president since 1926.

At 82, Wałęsa still radiates energy, humor, and an unshakable belief in humanity’s potential.

He spoke about the evolution of human consciousness— how for centuries, growth came through war and domination. Today, wisdom and technology invite us to choose another path: expansion through peace, dialogue, and cooperation. The real struggle, he said, isn’t between nations, but between old ways of thinking—fear, division, force.

True leadership, he reminded us, doesn’t only come from politicians —it begins with people: organizing, connecting, refusing to give up on the possibility of a better world. Wałęsa truly embodies the spirit of the Nobel Peace Prize—in his faith in our ability to communicate, connect, and evolve is unwavering.

His words echo in my own work: healing begins with awareness, connection, and the courage to step beyond old patterns. Whether in the body or in society, we repeat what we remains unconscious—until we choose to transform.

Wałęsa reminds us that age doesn’t dim conviction, and that the future depends not on force, but on collective will.
He left us with both a challenge and an invitation:

🌍 A better world is possible. It’s up to us to want it—and to build it together.

You are born whole.

As A.H. Almaas teaches, every child arrives with innate qualities: love, courage, clarity, belonging, joy, compassion. Yet when children grow up in a culture that does not recognize them—or even discourages them—we learn to shut them down. What remains are holes where these qualities once flowed freely.

We spend our lives trying to fill these holes. Society feeds this cycle, selling us endless substitutes—possessions, achievements, distractions—that soothe for a moment but never satisfy. The hunger only grows.

The truth is: these holes can never be filled from the outside. They can only be healed from within.

💡 The path is not about escaping or covering over our wounds, but about turning toward them with gentle curiosity. Through awareness, inquiry, and compassion, the defenses we built soften.
The very places we felt empty begin to reveal the living essence that was there all along—our own love, courage, joy, belonging.

Healing is the return to our essence. Wholeness is not something to buy or chase; it is something we remember.

Hate divides. Love unites.

The Art of Possibility reminds us of the “WE” story – the unseen threads that connect us all. It is a story of possibility: of coming together across opposing forces, beliefs, and experiences to find common ground.

In a world that promotes hate,
 choose love.
In a world that emphasizes the “Other,”
 choose “WE.”
In a world that dehumanizes,
 choose to honor your neighbor.
In a world that promotes division,
 choose to unite.
In a world that resorts to violence,
 choose peace.
In a world that spreads animosity,
 choose kindness.
In a world that tolerates cruelty,
 choose compassion.
In a world that pits “US” against “THEM,”
 choose the “WE” story.

It begins with each of us — choosing to connect, to unite, and to tell the story of “WE” instead of the story of “Other.”

“The WE appears when, even for a moment, we set aside the story of fear, competition, and struggle, and instead tell its story. WE is a relationship, a communication, a gesture, a movement — not a set of separate identities.”

The WE story becomes a channel for something larger: asking What is best for us? What is our next step?

If revenge, greed, pride, fear, and righteousness are the true villains — then people themselves remain the hope. We need never name another human being as the enemy. The real challenge is not one another, but the forces that divide us.

I invite you to tell the WE story. To embody togetherness — you, me, and all of us — as “a melody running through the people of the earth.”

The ocean is true medicine for the mind and body.

Its vast blues speak directly to body and breath, reminding your cells how to soften, regulate, and let go.

Science tells us these wavelengths soothe the brain and restore inner rhythm. But in the body, it feels like a gentle unwinding, a release that ripples through muscle, memory, and energy.

In somatic and energy therapy, we honor the body’s wisdom to discharge what is ready to go. The ocean mirrors this as the waves arrive, crest, and return—carrying what we no longer need out to sea.

Standing before the water is a natural release: stress dissolves, the heart steadies, and the body flows. 🌊

Healing is a continuous process. It’s on-going work, a lifetime’s work. And that’s OK.

That’s part of being human.

Keep working on your healing, looking within (not to the outside world) and do not expect perfection. Healing requires us to reflect and examine ourselves. It’s about looking at how we are showing up in our world.

Here are a few questions to take a personal moral inventory:

Look at yourself. How are you behaving? How are you showing up?
What is the impact of how you speak and how you act on other people? What is the impact on yourself?
What is driving that behavior? What are those patterns? Where do they come from?
What can you do to change them?
These are key questions that people who want to heal and be kind to themselves and others can begin ask themselves regularly.

Do you have a regular practice, journal, do yoga, meditate, and pay attention to yourself? Do you need support releasing the past, stored emotions and epigenetic trauma from your body? Would you like a more personalized plan?

DM me for an information, inquiry talk. I’m here to support your journey. Blessings and blissings on your journey.

Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.
