Daniela Weiss-Bronstein, Certified Sexologist פְּרוּ וּדְעוּ - a look at the intersection of halacha, hashkafa, and societal values

I've conducted a few interviews so far for my doctoral research, and I'm so incredibly grateful to the women who are sharing their stories with me. I can't wait to be able to write it up and share it with other social workers, clinicians, educators, and community leaders.

It's been really wonderful to delve into this topic with people who care about what and how we learn - both what they experienced and what they hope the next generations will be exposed to.

Sexual Self-Schema of Married Jewish Modern Orthodox Women
Research Recruitment

A new study of married Modern Orthodox women is being conducted by Daniela Weiss, a Ph.D. candidate at Wurzweiler School of Social Work, Yeshiva University. For participants, I am looking for American Modern Orthodox women approximately aged 33-53, who grew up in the United States, were raised Modern Orthodox, and have been married to a man for about 10 years or more.

You are being asked to complete a short anonymous demographic survey and may also be asked to speak about your experiences in an interview of up to 90 minutes.

Interviews will be conducted in English over Zoom and all information will be kept confidential. Your participation in this survey will help illuminate the values and beliefs among women in the Modern Orthodox community to train and educate therapists and social workers who work with the frum community. You will be offered the opportunity to review your transcript before analysis begins. Daniela Weiss is a rebbetzin and certified s*x therapist whose academic work focuses on improving access and outcomes in the observant Jewish community.

If you know other women who might meet the study criteria, please forward this to those contacts. I appreciate your help!

This study is being conducted by PhD candidate Daniela Weiss.

This year many people are home who would otherwise be with family or travelling for Pesach. For a lot of families it's their first time prepping a full Pesach alone. I remember my first year making Pesach. It was overwhelming, hard to organize, and physically draining.

I started a series about Pesach prep - what to buy, how much to buy, and some recipes. I'm happy to answer questions to the best of my ability.

The first guide is here, with more on the site and more on the way, including a run-through of what needs to get done on erev Pesach.

I know this year a lot of people are doing Pesach alone for the first time. I remember my first time doing a Pesach as overwhelming and confusing. And expensive! Based off of my own experiences, I'm going to have a few posts for you. This one is about essentials needed to run Pesach, and then extras...

This week a number of my sessions were focused on dealing with Coronavirus anxiety in the students. This is what I explained to them, but seeing as all y'all aren't lucky enough to have me as your therapist, here's a write-up by Vox to explain it.

You’re not just washing viruses down the drain. Soap destroys the coronavirus, a chemistry professor explains.
