A safe, private space for families. Tools such as mindfulness practice and acupuncture will be discussed to support healing and resilience.

Dr. Libby Stuyt, the Vermont Psychiatric Association 2022 Keynote Speaker will lead the retreat. Families with a loved one with a substance use disorder or severe mental illness will experience a safe place to learn evidence based tools to help them cope and decrease stress. The conference will validate the importance of supporting families and community members. Some family members suffer from anxiety, depression, PTSD. Validation and recognition increase resiliency of family and community members.

Evidence based tools such as mindfulness practice, acupuncture, acupressure, biofeedback and emotional freedom techniques will be introduced. Participants will learn to decrease their anxiety and stress while cultivating coherence, self calming and emotional regulation.
$10 suggested donation, lunch will be provided.

We have a wonderful opportunity for
Vermont providers to hear and learn from Dr. Libby Stuyt the Vermont Psychiatric Association 2022 Keynote Speaker in person.

This training will educate therapists, psychiatrists, social workers, mental health care workers, public safety professionals/ crisis counselors providers on the needs of families impacted by a loved one's substance use disorder or severe mental illness.

The aim is to both increase awareness of the needs of impacted families for support and provide evidence based tools such as acupuncture, acupressure , biofeedback, emotional freedom techniques, and mindfulness training that can swiftly de-escalate a difficult situation by decreasing the family member's stress, anxiety or PTSD.

Resilient families help create healthy communities where recovery is possible and supported.

Providers, including EMTs and first responders, can be more effective clinicians when they learn to cultivate coherence, self calming and emotional regulation in themselves and their patients.
A $10 suggested donation, snacks provided.
