Came across this entertaining video in an early morning FB troll.I guess the algorithms are at work puttng these videos together with the Biomechanics guy(that's me) which should include some of the Science guys input. he's a pretty smart practical guy. And I dont know how old he is, but he's seemingly in great shape. and I hope you do recognize just how critical these shoes can be when it comes to healthy ambulation, which includes not just the foot, but also your knees, hips and back.Nothing too scientific here that would be confusing; Just an entetaining few minutes.

I think its about time that the people at the NYTimes wake up and realize that treating knee problems and giving advice about how to deal with them is a foolish thing to do if you dont mention the relationship of FEET to ones knees. I have seen literally hundreds of pseudoscientific articles which completely ignore this obvious relationship. I have spent 40+ years treating knee, hip and back problems with properly prescribed foot orthotics and have positively influenced thousands of people by not ignoring this crucial detail. Do any of these so called scientific experts(and that includes many orthopedists as well) realize how important this relationship is???? its so incredibly obvious but continually overlooked. Read this one and tell me if anyone is mentioning anything related to what I am saying!!!! These people who write this stuff need an education!!!

There’s no magic bullet to knee health, but staying active and building muscles around the joint are crucial.

I certainly hope that these folks have not taken the idea from Nike (free) and decided to start selling “slipppers” in the guise of walking shoes(aka minimalist shoes).Excessively flexible feet ,hyper-pronated feet, weak ankles etcetc will not be happpy!

This is one very thought provoking piece about that activity so many of us take for granted! If you are in my line of work, it is never taken for granted for obvious reasons!! I primarily treat gait related disorders and that means improving the way you WALK !!!
