“I expect that even in two years, the focus of AI competence in colleges will be different because of these students having (prior AI) experiences that they bring to the equation as they enter university,” - Dr. Mannis

As schools adapt to emerging technologies, it’s critical that we balance innovation with how students learn best — cognitively, emotionally, and developmentally. Tactical use of AI across the curriculum keeps them current with tools that they can use ethically and effectively - in the classroom and beyond.

Honored to see Dr. Mannis included in The Washington Times discussing how AI is reshaping graduation requirements and the future of education.

Honoring Dr. King’s reminder that integrity, compassion, and courage don’t wait for the “perfect” moment. In how we teach, lead, and support children, doing what’s right is how real change begins. 💛

What if your hobby wasn’t just “for fun”… but actually helping your brain thrive? 🎨📚

Loved sharing this message with Good Housekeeping: productivity isn’t just about calendars and checklists. It’s also about joy, curiosity, and giving your brain space to explore.

“Hobbies fuel curiosity — and curiosity fuels growth. When we let ourselves experiment, play, and try new things, we unlock learning in a way that’s natural, motivating, and sustainable.” — Rebecca Mannis, Ph.D.

If you’ve been meaning to get back to reading, gardening, or music, this is your reminder. Your brain will thank you for it. 🧠

The holidays are full of magical moments. Between travel, schedule changes, late nights, and big expectations, stress can sneak in for all of us. What many families don’t realize is that our kids are watching and feeling what we feel, especially when routines shift this time of year.

On Dr. Mannis's recent News 12 segment, she talks about how holiday stress can impact children’s learning routines, not just when school’s out, but every time we juggle excitement, transitions, and uncertainty.

Here’s the key: when we slow down, check in with ourselves, and manage our own overwhelm, we give our kids permission to feel safe, regulated, and resilient.

It’s holiday time, an opportunity to treat our kids with an eye toward fun as we meet them where they are developmentally.

Dr. Mannis shared her thoughts with Today's Parent:
"When choosing gifts for 10-year-old girls, I look for toys and games that challenge them—but are still within their reach. At this age, their language skills, problem-solving, focus, and persistence are really developing, so the best gifts help them grow while feeling successful!"
